Lena frowned, wondering who was the girl. Yeah, her mother did pass away when the girl was young but she wasn’t going to reveal that to every random stranger. Her next words made her even more worried about her own sanity.

Lena looks at the girl, almost staggering back a few steps. Working at the royal court, she’s heard about a certain princess with a …unique style but she never saw her in person. And knowing that she happened to be her lost cousin’s true love just made things…messier. Though, not neccesarily worse. Lena wanted to make a good first impression.

“Hi”, she starts, doing a small curtsy. “Yeah, I’m Lena Zimmer, lady-in-waiting,” she nods before pausing. She wanted to avoid mentioning the role that the girl played in the curse but she couldn’t. She might have been “the princess of darkness” but in the end she saved Hakon’s life. That was a debt that Lena couldn’t repay. 

“I..wanted to thank you. For standing by my cousin’s side until we found him…for saving his life,”she says in the end after some hesitation. “I must admit, I thought you’d be the villain of the story.”

“O yes, hi come on in!” Said Cadenza with a smile, as she looked up at the brunette.

Lena walked in carrying a plate of cookies, trying to look a bit more confident. If the other girl didn’t hate her already, this might still work.

“Thanks,” she smiled. So far so good,  she thought. Cadenza was a nice girl, nothing like the witch who cursed her cousin. Speaking of..

“I, uh, wanted to apologise. I know my father and my aunt’s reactions might have been..hurtful. They’ve been traumatised and I guess they haven’t had the time or tools to deal with it. Still, I know you’ve suffered greatly on the Isle and I want to let you know that I don’t hold anything against you. If..if you need  my help, I’ll be here,” she said, placing the cookie tray on a desk. 

“I made these myself using an old family recipe..I hope you like them..maybe we can bake more together if you’d feel comfortable with that.”

Mom, if you could say one thing to Adelaide, what would it be and why? Dad, do you have any advice to give her?

Adelaide: I’d tell her..how proud I am of her for keeping her head on her shoulders this whole time and being a gracious, dutiful handmaiden. I miss her and I hope she doesn’t change,

Hansel:Yes..to  keep her sense of integrity and never forget about her family.

Did you know your cousin is the true love of Princess Hannah?

“Yes, he did tell me. I have to say, I’m still..shocked. We’re a family of commoners, with the exception of me being Eva’s handmaiden, we’re not involved with the royals. Knowing that my long-lost cousin is gonna be a prince at some point or another, after he was raised by one..none of us saw it coming. Then there’s also the thing with her royal highness’ ...style.I can’t imagine what she’s been through so I won’t judge. Plus, the last thing I want is to lose him again and that is what’s going to happen if I criticise his choice. It’s just a lot to take in.
