What does balance between living in the moment and taking a more analytical or long-term approach look like for you? I think really considering where my money goes, how much I'm actually spending per day due to my habits versus how much I need to be saving. I'm a very emotion-driven person who throws a lot of money at things that distract me from my emotions.

When was the last time you took a pause to process your emotions before reacting when not feeling great? I think that last time I tried and failed at this was during the failure of a vendor event that got rained out recently. Sigh. I usually do my thinking AFTER the damage has already been done. :/

🖊New Moon in Virgo 9/14 - 9/15 Journal Entries:

- What are ways in the past that you’ve created more balance, routine, or structure around something that you wanted to feel more grounded in? I defnitely have become more grounded in my artwork, and my business as an artist professionally. I've started really making a name for myself as a motion designer / illustrator and a local zinester through connecting with other amazing people and becoming more grounded in my community. I have felt so grounded in the lgbtq community of my town too, its so gratifying. I am resting now from top surgery but i am going to work on making a fresh new visual time schedule to follow weekly for my art career for this new moon activity to prep myself for October when my recovery is done. - If you asked your higher/ future/wiser self for advice around any relationship-related problem, if any, what advice would they give? They would remind me to "know your worth" as Freyja always taught us. - In what ways can a more light-hearted approach to things potentially benefit you at this time? It would help in bringing more people to my multiple causes, with fighting KOSA, fighting transphobia, fighting all bigotries, fighting against bad pedagogy in education, fighting against everything that harms others. Fighting fascism. I really need more people on the side of those of us most targeted by the onslaught of fascism and I think taking a more light-hearted approach to getting people mobilized would help so much. I want to make engaging positive videos that help get people active in their communities to help save our world and country from the depths of fascist rulership. - Moving into this new lunar cycle & zodiac new year, do you have any new intentions/goals? Venus Retrograde & Stronger Than Before

This Venus retrograde has been wrapping up and been really hitting me with all the returns and sightings of my abusive exes, up to three now that have showed back up in my life in some indirect way. They don't bother me though, they are afraid to - and for good reason. I'm much stronger now than ever before - i have a COMMUNITY behind me now, and I'm becoming well known in my communities for the work that I do. The memories I make. The moments I cherish and share with others brought me to this place of peace. I am now strong enough to hold my ground and NOT RUN from experiences in my life just because they are there. I'm existing in my own right, my trans and queer right, and as my true self - a college graduate in animation and media arts. I earned my place in this world and I won't let them scare me into obscurity ever again. They hold no power over me anymore. They are meaningless gnats. They are nothing to me. And to them, I am everything they want to harm. But they cannot touch me. For I am protected by my community, my Goddess Freyja and my own inner power and confidence now as a creator in this world. They thought they could stomp out my flame but here I am having my top surgery next week. I'm very grateful for where I am in life and for the help others have given me generously to get here. I can't believe I'm here though. I am so happy. I am finally free from my burdensome past and I am stronger on the other side of the cocoon. I am grateful. Thank you, universe, for giving me the strength to be here today. Granted i still did a nice protection spell to make sure they dont get any ideas. But yeah, I'm so happy I'm where I'm at now. Without any of them holding me back anymore. Weak cishet men are nothing but gnats to me now. I am so powerful and I will never back down. I am free and I am me now, forever more.

Tonight for the New Moon I held a small ritual where I burnt up the four components of myself and my hatred for conservatives. It is not working for the kind of person i want to be because they will simply use it AGAINST me to justify their bigotry, even if what I hate IS their bigotry. Theyll use our justified hatred and paint it as a flawed state of being. And I'm not about to give the worst people in existence more ammo. Denouncing their acts does come at a cost for my safety and speaking up against the evils of this world takes courage and love that knows no bounds.

I wished to become a being of love and patience.

Today is the New Moon and I am letting go of my destructive hatred for the evils of this world and replacing it with an undying love to defend those they harm.

I want to redirect my energies and make it possible to have something stronger to draw upon for my energy to continue fighting.

We must fight with love and not give them free ammo to justify their hatred for us.

I refuse to fall into the same patterns that my father fell into. He is a being of hatred. I am a being of love. I will overcome this flaw of myself and work hard to maintain the patience necessary to work on creating a better world for tomorrow, together with my community.

Take care. -O) ---- There are INFINITE genders or lack thereof and sexual identities. Each one deserves the same space and respect as the next. Each one brings something unique and necessary to a circle should they choose to share their magic with us. We are not limited by binarism. White supremacy upholds ideals and expectations that harm EVERYONE and must fall. Christo-fascists seek out only furthering this harm in our communities. We must NOT let it continue. Even though white supremacy harms everyone, white people must not center themselves in discussions or plans for taking it down. We must center the voices of those most marginalized by white supremacy first and foremost Because we are fighting white supremacy, queer magicians must work hard not to appropriate sacred religious tools, artifacts, aesthetics, practices, or deities that do not belong to us.    Sex magic is powerful, beautiful, and queer. What is my philosophy on life? I'm 32 Monday and would like this to be settled soon enough

Now that I am able to see clearly cuz i am getting top surgery August 23rd 2023

I will finally have life worth living

So I want to live a good life with good compass of morals guiding me. Good prerogatives and priorities. I want to tend to a garden that is my life and know I'm planting the right seeds to be a good person that I'd be proud to be like yeah that's me

So what are the life philosophies of a green art witch, heathen and norse pagan follower of Freyja and Medusa and Freyr and Odin ?

Just stream of consciousness things that are important to me I'll organize later and repost better written stuff

1) Upholding true trans INCLUSIVE feminist ideals in your every day actions and words

This means no leaning on misogyny even when it benefits you, refusing only passing as a man by silently joining the misogynistic onslaught against femmes in this world and accepting that living a trans feminist lifestyle might get me misgendered but nothing is worse than betraying those who raised me up so I wouldnt care if it harmed me to defend them

2) Denouncing white supremacy and nazism and fascism loudly and plainly and clearly as possible. Make fascists more than uncomfortable and unwelcome, make them run.

3) Live as loudly out and proud as possible to light the way for those who come after us and to honor those who carved the path ahead for us.

4) Respect and remember history always. Dont repeat historical mistakes. Do your reading with full attention. You might find a piece of yourself in the past.

5) Repeated persistent effort pays off like watering a plant every day. We need our routine effort in order to grow properly. We need consistency. Remaining consistent is a priority in life and shows you are a good person and committed. Trying again if you fell off the horse is also honorable.

6) Remain curious and always asking questions every day about every thing so you may fully learn and grow and be involved in your world.

7) Kill the cop in your head immediately, end of story. This helps in many situations

8) Find some way(s) to give back. Giving back helps you feel fulfilled and the cycle is completed.

9) Go out of your way to say thank you for peoples help. Make their efforts feel known. Remind them you care and saw.

10) Never give up even when you are at rock bottom. Remember that rock bottom is sometimes the best foundation to build upon. Be grateful for those who help pull you back up and never forget them.

These are the philosophical life guidelines I've picked up over the last 32 years of my life.

Journal Prompts - Full Moon March 7th 2023 - in Virgo

Journal Prompts sourced from Alina Alive via Youtube; - When things feel hectic, what makes you feel grounded back into your body and the moment?

Planning things out and trying to stick strictly to that plan as much as I can. Or burying myself in my work, if its creative I enjoy getting lost in it and feeling like I’m alive through it. But yeah, making notes to make little lists , writing it down, writing things down and drawing make me grounded.

- In what ways has past forms of distraction and dissociation helped you or hurt you?

Hurts me because it hurts my wallet to always spend too much on weed because I’m stimulant seeking and want to escape from the transphobic harsh world we live in where there’s literal anti-trans genocide on the horizon. It’s tough out here for a trans witch. I would argue it both helps and hurts me equally to smoke and use it for dissociation and distraction. I need to get back to a weekend routine so i have a way to release on the weekends. Then buckle up and deal with the world myself on weekdays. That’s my thoughts on that. The world may be harsh but im powerful.

- What does the phrase, ‘getting organized’ look like to you from a practical perspective?

Having a set of cycles that are good give and receive for yourself, regarding your responsibilities and taking care of yourself. It all adds up to the greater balance and picture of your current state of health. - Full Moon: Is there anything you’re ready to release during this full moon? (This can look like limiting beliefs, habits, patterns, people, or environments that no longer serve you.) I want to let go of the belief that allies don’t exist, I want to let go of the belief people don’t care about the anti trans genocide, I want to let go of the intrusive thought that they won’t try if I try harder, I want to let go of my hateful patterns, i want to let go of anyone who isnt here to protect trans life through the next 10 year fight to exist in peace. I let go of any stressful environments I previously existed in. I leave my past back there and forever move forward.

march week 1 / wednesday

FLOWERS:

- Balloon Vine / Flower

Beauty, invasive species so could use in magic to correspond with never giving up, letting beauty creep into your life, letting positivity grow into your life like the Balloon Vine grows on native plants

- Red Trumpet Vine Flowers

Another fast growing species that is Air and Mercury related, as well as Fire related for it’s high heat tolerance. They reign in and shout out SUMMER without being stopped. They grow up poles and need nothing to root themselves down, airborne roots etc. It’s paradise wherever they bloom. 

- Abelia “Edward Goucher”

Not commonly on correspondence lists, but I think these flowers are associated with the beauty of the natural world and the way we can paint meaningful things even if they have no “true meaning”, we can make meaning out of anything. We see a beautiful creature and relate to it’s need to exist just to BE. Use this flower when you want to find inner beauty and strength to keep going no matter what. 

- Prickly Pear Cacti & their flowers

The fruit can be eaten and used in smoothies, etc. The fruit can also work as an offering to deities who govern over the Summer, Sun, and any hot months. They appreciate the hard work of the Earth to provide fruit even among it’s harshest climates. The Prickly Pear Cactus is proof that even in all terrain, harsher and harsher, that beauty can overcome and exist in spite of the difficulties around it. Ingest the fruit with this mantra in mind. 

SHRUBBERY / GRASS

- Alkali Sacaton

Commonly seen everywhere, this grass is heat tolerant and often is a way to handle overbearing water in an area as they soak up a lot. Use their energy to harmonize yourself in balance with the world around you and the EARTH around you, you’re grounded with this grass helping. 

- Prairie Parsley

Mercury, Air, and Gemini are imbued within this Parsley’s yellow blooms in the field. Use them as a means to quicken your spellwork in Late Winter / Early Summer.  Medicinal teas can be made from it’s root that help with flushing out negativity.

TREES:

- Cedar Elm

The “Elven Tree” and commonly used for coffins previously. These trees are seen in folklore at the crossroads of where the Mortal Realm leads into the Land of the Faerie. 

- Live Oak

Heart, attracting love, protection, and aids in sharpening psychic abilities. Carrying it can attract love, but also protect from lightning strikes, supposedly. 

- Eldarica Pine

Evergreen, Mars, Air, Fire, the Emerald, Rebirth, abundances, health ,fertility, fortune and love. Black. Kenaz rune. Windmill plume. Blume (dragon’s blood.) Purifies ritual spaces and new homes. Helps “stay the course.” ---

Garden Activity 

This year is our third year doing a garden with my mother outdoors. We are working on an outdoor garden and plan to grow herbs separate in their own area, and to move the hot peppers to a nicer area save for the ones who really like the Sun. We plan to grow plenty of herbs for Witchcraft and Cooking uses, and fruit and vegetables. I hope that my Strawberry Plant comes back this year, from it’s current dormancy. It is still alive despite the cold, so with Freyja’s blessings I am taking it into the next year’s season with me.  Let’s hope for an abundant year. I am going to work on my making my new bindrunes for the garden tonight inspired by this journal post!

march grimoire challenge / week 1 / day 2 (2021)

Divination Activity: Cast two different spreads with runes using two different techniques to answer one question you already know the answer to (or for a friend who has an answer in mind). How accurate was each casting? Is there anything with regards to casting technique that surprised you?

----  So for this activity I asked “what is my career goal” which is already very stable of a thing, that I want to create stories with my art about LGBTQ+ experiences and fantasy starring queer characters and also work in the animation industry on cool other stories etc.  The outcome was fairly similar between both though the 2nd one I did was a little more extended in the information presented. Here is the guideline to the rune castings I did:

Let us start with the 5 runes one. 

Spread #1 the 5 Rune Cross (Picked out of shuffled group in hands)

This spread was picked out of a shuffled bunch of the runes (all of them) in my palms with eyes closed and/or towards the heavens. (I did both)  1 - basic influences - Ansuz  Odin’s wisdom, and a MESSAGE that might be divine that I have to carry. Enthusiasm. I have great enthusiasm that I rely on to make things work out regarding my art and sharing art with others, teaching art too. 2 - problems that may influence question - Raidho The journey, traveling from A to B, the challenges I’ve faced to get here has been over the course of a 10 year journey in college.  3 - positives that may be influencing the question - Jera my growth, albeit very slow, has been steady and earned over a long period of time. Growing like a tree. The changes ive made and growth has manifested in my life opportunities and more. 4 - immediate answer to the question - Algiz That I have the internal power and skills to manifest my dreams into reality.  5 - The Future Influences - Uruz  Hard work , strength perseverance, motivation and determination to do things. Great force at play.  overall very positive and in the right direction for what I already know my goals are. Let’s see what the 7 V formation had to say. --------

The 7 one essentially was similar, about me having feelings that I have great gifts I’m thankful for that I worked hard to get to with studiousness. I’m going to be putting them to use, and it ends out with a joyous outcome. There is rebirths, and big projects, and transformations involved. There is long time fought for growth. The reversals in the past influences highlight the bigotry from many members of my bio family that I seek to break out and away from and become 100x better than my family ever was.

So both were very similar in responses, to the same question asked about my career goals/projections based on the work i’ve put in.

It’s interesting and different to read the runes but I very much enjoy getting back into it!

Things that surprised me was definitely the Odin related ones, and how close i felt to Odin while using these. I recently began to worship him properly and accept that call I was receiving. Now I’m working with Runes more than how I usually worked with them with just using them for spells and sigils and candle carving  or food carving.

It’s very nice to read them now. I will attempt to do one rune reading a week to keep practiced on this language and new way to do divination.

Rune Activity: Reflect back on your use of runes after these few weeks. How can you further your use of runes? Will you use continue to use them in your practice? What can you do to increase your usage and knowledge of runes? Will you explore other runic systems? I will continue to use them for sure. My use of runes included already... - Carvings for spells, candles, food, pumpkins, etc. - Using them to create bindrunes and sigils including runic symbols. I can expand by doing a once a week checkin with my runes, and practice between different casting techniques -- I like the full random cast, that feels great to do. But picking them out feels fun too. I’d like a proper bag maybe for them, they have a tiny chest now for display and storage. A bag would be useful for the actual readings of them though so I wouldn’t have to mix them in my palm. Might make one this season...might as well. :)  - O ‘21

On Why I Will No Longer Call The Seasonal Holidays ‘Sabbats’

Simply put, I do not feel comfortable using the term anymore after a Jewish friend helped me realize it was a ripped word from “Shabbat” or “Sabbath” which are Jewish holy days. I don’t know, I just feel like the whole term ‘sabbat’ for witch celebrated seasonal holidays came from Wicca. Wicca is a path/faith that is just a cheap amalgamation of mostly culturally appropriated things and concepts shoved together and treated like it is important. To me that is just nonsense anymore. I don’t want to contribute to bastardization of words to suit the fancy of white women’s spirituality. I started my path with Wicca but since long ago separated from it with disgust for the ways it had effected me back then. I found my own path and no longer need that stuff. I appreciate Wiccans who can make their own path within it but at what point are you even practicing Wicca anymore if you have to change it up entirely to not be cisheteronormative and culturally appropriative? That’s the question I had to ask myself long ago and thus led me to leaving it. I thought ‘sabbat’ was a witchcraft word -- not Wicca -- even though the two often get conflated by people none the wiser yet. But I was wrong. So I no longer use the term ‘sabbat’ because I do not want to associate with weird made up words ripping off Jewish words that are sacred and holy.

journaling my pagan experience 7-14-21

this is a direct copy and paste from the witch discord channel in my server. These are my current experiences with the deity, Odin —- o i had a wild experience Setup: So i have been getting inkling feelings and nudges and like hellos and such i thought, maybe, from Odin. spiritually speaking i have been avoiding the call and really sitting down to speak to him. So through this last month i had taken my mom to the new witchcraft store in town.

I uhhh ended up dropping 100 dollars (i got commissions tho that covered my ass after) on stuff there and a lot of it was stuff i felt like Odin was telling me to get to make an altar space for speaking to him.

I set up a space with the world tree cloth i have, the two raven/crow tealight holders i got (opposing side ones so its Huginn and Muninn) , an old black plate with gold detailing, a small tiny wreath where i set a tall purple candle (chime kind) in a silver holder in the center of. i also had Pyrite stones one loose and one that was a skull to symbolize death whcih is his realm too.

Well i set this up then i chickened out on speaking to him and answering said nudges and desire to get all this shit that doesnt NORMALLY happen to me but i went insane at the store lol —- Today’s world:So yeah i completely overworked yesterday for a gajillion hours and went to bed still stressed i didnt do enough. Evne tho i got 3 entire icons done and two sketches done and an emote sketched and i streamed for 4 hours?

So i got zapped today by the crash from it and like ever since i woke up the internet was down and my phone 4g was crashing all day and wouldnt load anything current. then i crashed for a nap later, then i woke up after a nap with Barby. Wehn i did i was trying to sit at my computer and i just had this huge pull towards the spot there and my body and mind was like “you have nothing you can do the internet is down why arnt you using your tarot and speaking to Odin right now” So i did just set up sit down and light all the candles i set up there and I asked 3 questions and asked for the attention of Odin politely

- What is your wisdom, Odin?

- Upright 6 of Cups nostalgia card reconnecting with old friends (him and also recently with other people, and also te symbolism in the card is a mother taking care of a kitten with full cups surrounding them inside a nice home) accepting and appreciating my home i am living in now and finding joy in it with my last years with my mother before i get too busy and dont have enough time for her when i move out. to take advantage of my situation now to make moves with my work (ties into the last card)

I laughed when i saw this card front and center position (3 card spread) cuz it was literally Odin and also looked like Kaz (im doing this near Kaz’s shrine too cuz i dont have a lot of space). But anyways, it solidified he was a mentor, teacher, an available source and also symbolized the male mentors in my life that can replace my fathers position to me for a father figure and also someone who is masculine and positive and not toxic. then my last question was - How can i better worship you, Odin?

this card makes sense in two ways, the fact that it literally meant the entire world was going to stop (aka my connection to the outside world, forcing me into contemplation and solo confinement and hermitness literally) and make me stop overworking and take a break to focus on the spiritual side of life today because it was needed and also made sense in the question to answer is also to take more time for that part of life and make schedule for breaks too. but also to not overwork in general. And lastly, to show honour for the deities in my life by working hard when its time to like it basically told me ok chill youre doing great you need to relax too so yeah it was a really good tarot conversation with Odin and i feel like im approaching the masculine deities again with trauma and baggage but im open and feel safer than before i used to avoid masculine deities because of a lot of christian caused trauma christianity in general etc but im happy on the vanir and aesir side of life i thanked Freyja today for helping and allowing us to use the cats tarot to communicate but yeah now im wearing carnelian and pyrite in a necklace to bring myself closer to Odin WOW pagan shit im done spamming this channel now oh yeah anyway my point is the internet and my phone starting being able to charge only after this happened? and why am i so fucking goth that now im worshiping TWO death god / goddess?!?!! march challenge / week 1 / day 1 (2021)

Journal Activity: Where do your interests lie with regards to herbalism? What are you hoping to get out of researching herbalism? Write down a few goals that you have for your learning about herbalism.

Research Activity: Find some reliable sources that you can use to reference during your journey into herbalism. What authors should you avoid? What authors are reliable? What websites can be used?

Journal activity:

I am VERY interested in herbalism and the ways we can best benefit from our earthly friends that share the bounty of their growth with us.  I try to form a healthy connection and relationship with any plant I care for, and in turn they give me a lot of stuff I don’t always know what to do with...other than cook with, and use it to empower food. That’s about as far as I get. I want to know more about how they can help us in the spell department because I feel connected to the Earth but I need to do more research. I recently bought access to a Herbalism course on udemy, so I am planning on going on a “herbalism learning trip” staycation on the week of my birthday along with a bunch of other events I’m attending. But I’m ready to finally get into the herbalism of my craft more. I typically worked with the bones of our earth before, the crystals, and dried herbs and flowers for offerings  I am hoping to get some health remedies out of herbalism and just have a more beneficial relationship full of understanding and honouring the entirety of what bounty my plants give me. I’d like to gain more understandings of how i can strategically use cuttings for ingestion and home remedies. I want to make my own tea mixes too to use for meditation, focus, and self-love purposes as well as make my own tinctures, potions, and whatnot. I want to make the most of every herb I work with. I also wouldnt mind learning more about making my own smoking mixtures too. And I want to complete that basics class I bought access to! It was only 25 dollars with a sale so I can’t let it get away from me lol.

Research activity: 

Well websites I have used before is Witchipedia, (https://witchipedia.com/) they have a nice herbal grimoire there. I have joined their herbalism group on facebook called  my original book I started with was Magical Herbalism by Scott Cunningham. I think for beginner witches he is not a terrible author. I have seen people and agree with their words of suggesting further reading beyond him though as he simplifies it enough to make it available to the masses which is good, but I am not a wiccan so it does not service me entirely. I am not sure if he conflates witchcraft = wicca (which isnt true) but I downloaded a free pdf of it so we’ll see? I’m gonna be digging into it again so I’ll give more thoughts on him later using my 2021 more mature witch eyes. so here’s to that. Other books I have benefited from were The Green Witch by Arin-Murphy Hiscock. Its a great primer for a lot of Green lifestyle stuff and I really love their books, including the Self-care for Witches book too that is another of their series i received as a gift from my mother. I hope they come out with a Moon magic book someday maybe.  But yeah, I am looking more into gathering stuff to get serious on the research side of herbalism and the studies, and actually doing it and making potions and tinctures and teas. I downloaded another PDF called “ Healing Herbal Teas: Learn to Blend 101 Specially Formulated Teas for Stress Management, Common Ailments, Seasonal Health, and Immune Support” so we will see what this holds in it regarding herbalism and the uses of herbs.  Another good place for source for material and things is https://www.alchemy-works.com/
