"Now that we are living in the age of computerized society, I believe human work using human hands has to be emphasized more. That's one of my reasons, why I keep on working on my new works. By drawing, I started to feel relief, at some point I started to feel that something other than my self allowed me to draw these works. Suppose every creature is a circle, which exists in this world, how many of them can I draw? That is my life work and my challenge. I have to keep on working, otherwise nothing will be brought in to existence. By drawing circles I feel I am alive and existing in the cosmos." - Hiroyuki Doi
The drawing can be seen at the traveling exposition 'museum of everything', which is currently at an old school in the center of Paris.

Each year, two million Mexican residents take part in the Ruta del Peregrino – a 117 kilometer pilgrimage through the mountains range of Jalisco. This religious voyage has been taking place since the 17th century and represents the pilgrim’s act of faith carried to penitence. In an effort to provide the route with better conditions, nine architecture firms collaborated to build seven architectural landmarks that provide shelter, services and outlook points for the pilgrims.

SCANDERBEG SQUARE TIRANA (NIGHT) by 51N4E
The oppressing monumentality of the communist constructions is countered by the shape of the square: a large, low pyramid. Standing on top of this pyramid, one is no longer overpowered by the architecture of the past. This subtle intervention acknowledges Albania’s past, and gives it a new perspective as well.
SCANDERBEG SQUARE TIRANA (DAY) by 51N4E
The central square of Tirana is designed as a void in the chaos of the city, a void shaped by a collection of gardens and public buildings, both existing and new. This surrounding green belt functions like an antechamber, negotiating between the congestion of the city and the emptiness of the square. From the empty center, the full range of buildings defining Albania’s past can be seen, representing a common past that can be built upon.

“I am interested in line and fold, surface and illusion of depth. This series continues along these lines that I’ve been exploring for a while. They are rooted in digital technology with a nod to traditional drawing. Crafted on a pen plotter outfitted with a Montblanc ball point pen refill, each one is a bit different as the pen slowly dies and picks up dust while rending the pieces. Some lines print lightly or misprint, which reminds me of unraveling fabric or a missed stitch. The idea of drifting seems to fit with both the undulating surface as well as the process of creating them.” - MATTHEW SHLIAN
