Just curious but why does the operating system underneath it all matter?
Because iOS will rob you of your freedoms in ways that Bill Gates never imagined. I assume you mean "free software", as in freedom, when you say "open source". Unless of course, you don't care about freedom. There's no such thing as free software on iOS. It's incompatible with Job's EULA. I recommend getting a real OS. Free software, something less likely to screw you: in this case, Android." - WaywardGeek
"Fragmantation may be a problem from the technical perspective of a developer, but for consumers it means that they have a lot of choices, which is a good thing." - moronoxyd
"PR-Wise,
This is horrendously bad for apple, cause if I think it's not cool, then I stop recommending it. I stop recommending it, they don't get sold. It took a lot of nerds to make apple get where it is today, IMSHO." - TheCouchPotatoFamine in Why Apple's DUI Checkpoint App Ban Is Stupid
"Thanks for selling Android, Apple.
The 4th Amendment will be preserved, even without the iCult's help." - blair1q in Apple Bans DUI Checkpoint Apps
"An ultimately secure OS
would be the one that does not do anything at all. No inputs and no outputs. Perhaps iOS is closer to that ideal than any other." - dmt0
"I don't think they'll miss you. Lets face it, people like yourself who make informed decisions about such things are not a major component of Apple's consumer base!" - Brannoncyll
"I figured this might be coming. Between Windows 8 trying to become a cell phone UI and Apple's brilliant idea to place an eject key on its keyboards instead of a forward delete key, it won't be long before a PC is completely gimped and useless to anyone that produces anything. Apple hit it big with its touch screen UI. So big that they're going to impale themselves on it." - Fastball
