My name is Nonnie, I'm a registered nurse in the United States and I'm a graduate student working on her doctorate in nursing practice. I love my job, especially when it comes to education and being a resource for others. As a passion project, I've been working on a resource for writers on the human body, injuries, diseases, and more. For more information, please continue reading!
The resource is currently a work-in-progress. Because I'm a student and I work, updates may be slow and sporadic.
The idea for the document is to do an overview of the different body systems and various injuries that can occur to them. Later on, I plan on adding more fleshed out information and include diseases and things that can affect the body as a whole such as drug use. I will always do my best to use plain language and explain things to the best of my ability.
It is a very large project, but the hardest part isn't the extra research or writing it. The hardest part is deciding what to write on next. It'd be extremely helpful if people let me know what parts of the body, types of injuries, or any health topic they want included. Anything requested will be added to a to-do list that I will finish before writing on whatever next section I feel like. Otherwise, please feel free to comment on the document what you want me to add next, or ask me here on Tumblr.
If you have any specific questions, need specific ideas, or anything, please do not hesitate to contact me. This is my passion, I love helping people with writing and being a resource. If you do ask me to add anything or ask for specific help, you will make my entire week!
Without further adieu, here is the link to the Google Doc.
This document will remain 100% free of charge and AI use in its writing. I am ardently against AI in all forms for academic, moral, and personal reasons.
"The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain."
-Ursula K. LeGuin, The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas
"Evil is boring. Right? I kinda believe in the banality and mundaneness of evil. Evil is just selfish impulses, which at the end of the day are really easy to understand. It’s easy to understand why people do bad things. It’s like “yeah, ok, you’re selfish and scared and cruel, I get it”. Being good is complex and beautiful and hard." - Brennan Lee Mulligan
The assholes openly admit it. The whole point of college is to enforce the hierarchy. When those who were supposed to be low on the hierarchy started going to college, the assholes get angry and want to make them suffer for challenging the hierarchy.
actually hate that the bodys response to anything is nausea. ate too much? nauseous. ate too little? nauseous. an imaginary threat got you scared? be nauseous. on your period? you guessed it. sawed into your hand and need to go to the emergency room? perhaps throwing up into your open wound will be of help
one time at a funeral i panicked and said the first drink i could think of and the bartender made me the pina colada With all the fixings all the trims all the bells and whistles i didnt even ask imagine youre at a funeral and the person besides you is drinking a pina colada with whip cream as tall as the drink with a cherry and an umbrella, thats what happened to me
knowing that the past tense of "hang" is "hanged" when it's a method of execution can be very entertaining because you'll be watching a horror movie and someone goes "local legend says a woman was hung in these woods" and you're like "👀 good for her I guess"
"there's no such thing as the dark side of the moon" yes there is. the dark side of the moon isn't always the same parts of the moon, but whatever side of the moon is facing away from the sun is dark. imagine saying "there's no dark side of the earth" when billions of people are experiencing nighttime at any given moment. shut up Neil
I can tell my evil advisor has been feeling down lately so I've been pretending to take big sips from his cursed chalice and then roaming the palace grounds groaning and clutching my abdomen. Lowkey I know it's deceptive but I can tell it's really cheering him up. I heard him evilly cackle for the first time in weeks. WIBTA if I keep doing this
i really genuinely wish I could hit chatgpt with my bare fists and hear its pityful electronic voice fade into glitched robotic gibberish and choking beeps as I hit it before I smash it for good and it shuts the fuck up forever
To this DAY the best argument I ever had with my father was when we were sitting together on the bus to work discussing unions, where HE said “Unions are expensive scams that produce lower quality work at half the speed, they’re bad for customers and bad for workers” and *I* replied “More money than you or I will ever make in our lives has been spent by CEOs of multibillion dollar industries who want to convince you that that’s true” and he called me a conspiracy theorist and like a fucking ‘everyone clapped’ ass moment an old man across the aisle from us pointed to me and told my old man “the kid’s right”
A lot of people still don’t understand me when I say that reversing desertification is a good thing. They think I hate deserts
Let me put it this way. I really like the ocean. However I don’t think it’s a good thing for the ocean to flood inland destroying ecosystems and villages because some of the natural hills that kept it at bay have been mined away. Me building a dam to keep the ocean away to bring back some of the natural barrier that was lost isn’t me trying to destroy the ocean. It’s me keeping the ocean out of my goddamned ecosystem where it isn’t meant to be anyways.
People planting new trees and grasslands on the edge of the Sahara desert aren’t trying to get rid of the entire desert. They’re replacing the natural root systems that kept the soil from blowing away that have been eaten away by overgrazing. They’re replacing the natural barrier that keeps the desert in its goddamned place.
