Overlapping Action

  Overlapping Action is an animation festival based in the City of Roses: Portland, Oregon. Started in the Northeast in Boston, Massachusetts, it still retains strong connections with the animation community in Boston. Overlapping Action screens work from local and national animators from cities in North America such as Boston, MA, Portland, OR, NYC, NY, and Los Angeles California. All work is featured currently featured on the tumblr blog: http://overlappingaction.tumblr.com/ Each iteration of Overlapping Action contains a different theme, as well as particular parameters for each animated video. Past themes have included: "Change, Trip and Grow, Time and currently Combination".  Submissions are curated and edited together into a live edit that is screened in Portland, OR, Boston, MA. Future venues to be announced.

On this coming Saturday, Aug. 12th, the Overlapping Action Mini Animation Festival will be screening at the Poboy Art and Framing Gallery as part of the show: EVERYTHING'S EXPLODIN': an exhibition of the art prints and rock posters of Guy Burwell Illustration. The event is part of Foster Rd's second Saturday's art walk and will be going from 2-8 PM. The event is located at 5444 E. Foster Rd. Portland, OR There will be two screenings of animation festival at 5 PM and 7 PM. Come down and see some amazing artwork, contemporary animation and hear live music! Hope to see you there!
