Introducing FatBit
We’re excited to announce that Grommr is launching our first-ever piece of tech hardware: The FatBit.
It’s been six years since Grommr launched, and in that time, the gainer community has grown in ways we never anticipated (pun fully intended). Many gainers have used technology to grow themselves more efficiently than ever, whether it’s the right mix of chemically enhanced protein powders or mobile apps to track calories consumed.
FatBit is the next evolution in gainer technology.
We’re partnering with the San Francisco-based company FitBit, to bring FatBit to market. Their marketing team has been very receptive to our product parameters and after recently receiving a functional prototype from them, all we can say is: Wow.
So what can the new FatBit do? Perhaps a better question is, what can’t it do? We’re particularly excited about a few big features that are game-changers for the gainer community.
Measure Your Eating Speed
Science has long told us that those who eat faster eat more, so we’re thrilled that the first generation of FatBit includes a fork-o-meter. FatBit uses your own wrist movements to assess your plate-to-mouth shoveling rate and provide updates when it thinks you should eat faster.
Optimize Your Lethargy
For active gainers, it’s important to maximize the value of time spent sedentary. FatBit can help. By tracking an array of pre-set non-activities ranging from “Play Video Games” to “Just Sit There”, FatBit can help you to optimize the time you spend maintaining calories.
Snack Smart
Using the sweat naturally produced on your wrist, FatBit is able to analyze your glucose levels and, when needed, recommend an appropriate snack. Based on our tests, it appears that FatBit almost constantly recommends snacking and almost always determines that pizza is the optimal snack.
Find Your Ideal Foods
FatBit uses your own heart rate to help figure out which foods you like most. If your heart beats faster after gulping down a carton of ice cream, FatBit will register that preference and recommend you buy more cartons of ice cream in the future.
We’re planning to launch the sale of FatBit in late June of this year. The cost for a basic unit will start at $249 and scale up to $599 for premium models.
