Diamonds in the Rough: Mod Application

Diamonds in the Rough is a shipping zine for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. However, unlike most shipping zines that focus on the usual popular pairings, Diamonds is intended to be an inclusive zine that encompasses ships that are considered to be rare (or crack in some cases). Additionally Diamonds will not be focusing on a particular part of the series, instead all of the parts will be allowed for the creation of art, merch, and writing.

01: A memory from your character’s childhood

01:  A memory from your character’s childhood

Melone doesn't have the fondest memories of her childhood. However, the few that she does have focus on spending summers at her grandmother's dacha. With the aid of her grandma, she usually conducted little field experiments like planting flowers to see how the hybrids would look. She would also do questionable things, like venture deep into the surrounding woods to have a tea parties or just general exploration to look for Baba Yaga's roaming house.

It's funny, Melone absolutely hates being out in the outdoors. Yet, there was always something nice about going to the countryside and being surrounded by nature.

07:  Something that makes your character happy

I think I talked about it before but one of the things that makes her happy is really trashy reality tv/ soap operas.

However, to give you guys something different. Melone is trash and loves going to the local discoteca. It's loud (both in furniture and sound), filled with attractive people, have a large dance floor.

12:  Describe your character’s parents

In one word: unhappy. Only really together because of a certain baby girl (read as parasite).

Melone's mother is very severe— both in her sharp features as well as her personality. She's extremely opinionatedand brutal in her approach to situations. However, she was the defacto bread winner for the house as she worked endlessly at the local factory.

Melone's father on the other hand, is a sout fair haired man that prefers his breakfast in his secretary's kitchen. He runs a shitty surveillance firm that, to this day, is on the brink of bankruptcy. Despite his age, he still believes he's still in his teenage years— thinking that he is a straping stud that is always correct.

Realistically, they're only together due to the slim morals and benefits. Even if both of them venture to find other partners on the daily (including Melone's childhood).

If I'm being completely honest, I don’t think Melone has a best friend or someone she's really close to. Sure she considers the members of La Squadra friends and she has a few others she kept around when she's bored, but there's no one she would consider more than that.
