Election Day Eve // Owen & Lu (Nov. 3rd Noon)
“Well I did try a soy dog once, and let’s say it was my first and last time. I must say I greatly respect your ethical commitment though. Perhaps if I didn’t have such innate needs and a stronger constitution things would be different.” Lu would never be able to change the fact he was a Shifter, and knew Owen would be absolutely horrified if he ever observed his behavior in wolf state playing out the dynamic of predator and prey. Before he knew they were ordering at the counter, and as Lu reached back for his wallet Owen was already paying for the both of them. Given the conversation he took it down a notch, and only ordered three of the delectable all meat chili dogs. A quick shrug of his shoulders he added. “Well thank you even though you don’t have to. I fully understand not everyone is a barkeep.” Lu would’ve normally insisted to buy his own meal, but he knew it was important to the Fairie so he let it be. The men continued to stand till a tray of food appeared before them. Reaching out for the tray he followed Owen to a small booth surprised that they were seated so quickly. Letting his meal rest he shot up a questionable eyebrow. “Well you know I’m the first to support you in your endeavors not only cause we all benefit, but I know it’s where you find your purpose. However, you know what they say about all work and no play? Owen you need to live more and work less.”
With the quick progress of taking their trays and finding a seat, Owen knew that their small talk was coming to an end. The Shifter confirmed his thoughts nearly as soon as they were seated. Sighing, he knew that the conversation that never seemed to end was once again upon them. "You know very well that I spent lifetimes doing very little work. Now that I've returned to this area of the world, it seems I need to make up for that. I get out now and again, but a politician's life is busy, especially with the election tomorrow. If I'm to change anything I must give it my all, and I cannot do that if I'm spending too much time 'at play' as you put it." It was somewhat of a sore spot with the Faerie. He would love to spend more time with the dwindling number of friends that he had, but he felt so strongly about his cause that he knew he couldn't simply leave it. There didn't seem to be a middle ground in his field of work, and so he was left struggling to maintain relationships while throwing himself head first into his work. "Tell me, how goes the life of the one who lives it? I'm sure you know all about my life lately, it's been all over the television, so please give me a break from it. What have you been up to lately? Any new girls I should know about? Getting into trouble? Having fun? Let me live vicariously through you my friend!"
