I have trouble with colors for scaled/armored Sado. In my head I called his color "bronze", but apparently I had another association with bronze color than it is in real, so I am really unsure now. And also I can't make dark color look at least a little presentable...
So it may be reddish-brown, and it is almost near orange-brown, so I drew him orange. Technically this color is called "fresh green" (Why?!)...

The concept: Sado is a non-human with good healing, too good for his own good.
So that is how it goes. They are said that they will live their lives to the end, die, and then they will be reborn ā decades or centuries later. Then their memories will be awaken and the new fight will begin. The Seven warriors against the Chaos.
After a while they start going different ways. Of course, for a couple of years they are almost always not more than a day away from each other. Brothers Kurosaki still are inseparable, and Rukia has someā¦ Thing with Ichigo, but then Orichime and Ishida go to learn medicine to Sunset Islands, Renji returns to his duties as a Second-in-Line, and Sadoā¦ Well, Sado travels the world as he always wanted to. He never needed much, so part-time jobs are enough. He also is sometimes given money and things for the monsters he kills nearby cities and villages.
Well, sometimes in smaller settlements people throw sticks and stones into him, because Sado still has tail, fangs, claws and a lot of scales. And it is still pretty rare to be whatever lizard-raptor-beast thing Sado is. But mostly it is fine and Sado is happy. Especially as he writes to his friends regularly ā and, even if responses can not be sent to a person without constant mail address, Sado does visits the other six of them to chat, exchange stories about their lives and may be remember the good parts of their great adventure.
And then the Inquisition got him.
They studied him. They cut him apart and took his blood and fangs and claws. They did it again, after his wounds healed, to find out how fast and how long he can heal himself. Technically Sado did not heal himself, it happened without his control.
It was a long time for Sado. Even if he often was half-asleep, drugged and starved, they did not put him to sleep during vivisections. Actually, in moments of clear mind Sado was a little disturbed by the fact that he was still alive ā and that no one had come to save him.
And then he manages to eavesdrop ā actually, just hear, because two guards thought him either unconscious or deaf ā that the rumors did spread about the monster caught by the Church, and that they decided to fix the situation quite simply. By killing him.
Sado is almost relieved to hear it. He does not want to die, of course, butā¦ By comparison with being studied and cut apart death does sound like a more peaceful pastime. With having all his limbs, teeth and claws back in one piece.
And then they enchain him, put concrete cubes around his feet and palms, throw him in the deep and narrow pit and ā apparently ā seal it.
It is quiet. And dark. And cold. Sado broke a few bones after that fall, the one in the middle of his tail hurts especially, and they heal slowly and painfully, because he can not move to straighten them, and they straighten on their own. It takes time. A lot of time, even if Sado can not measure it accurately. He is already starved, and soon he is also thirsty, but it seems these two things can not kill him, or are killing him really, really slow.
After his bones mostly heal (but still really hurt), Sado starts trying to free himself. It does not lead to any good result. The chains are apparently enchanted, and gradually burn through his scales when he tries to move, leaving Sado gasping for air and almost unconscious again and again and again.
Sado was not the one to give up. Ichigo may be the most stubborn from their Seven, but Sado was always good with forging ahead however slow it was. So, Sado thought, however long it takes, he will escape eventually.
And then the water came.
It starts as simple as an air becoming more humid, as a distant dripping at the edge of hearing. Then the sound moves closer, growing into the murmur of small streams. At first it is just a thin layer of liquid on the stone bottom of the pit. But the water keeps coming, and soon ā or may be it takes days, Sado is not sure in the concept of time passing anymore ā Sado is neck deep in the bitter liquid, not salty, but unsuitable for drinking.
And then the level of water is higher than Sado can reach.
i am. so sorry if i have ever used the phrase āi have an au whereāā and led you to believe that there is an actual fic out there for you to read rather than, at best, a post where i explain the concept, and at worst it is simply something that lives in my brain

Moony Gale had worked in a small town's library for a few years now. The unicorn is known by everypony as a person to ask for anything connected with books and knowledge. He, unfortunately, is pretty shy and seems a little agoraphobic - Moony rarely leaves the library. Not much is known about him otherwise.
The story begins when a group of special detectives arrives into the city looking for a criminal - a pegasus named Storm, whose crimes are strictly classified. A young pegasus-warrior named Shadow Flare, who accompanies detectives in case of armed conflict, one day comes to the library and soon befriend Moony Gale. Little does Flare knows that many thing are not what they seem to be.
Will the past catch up with Moony, who is the real criminal and who is the victim, and how can a unicorn fake being a pegasus?
All these questions may or may not be answered in fanfic which I probably would never write...
