Never tell people more than they need to know.

I generally have little interest in the romantic comedy genre, but watching this one proved more momentous than I’d had time to process. Tears were triggered by the tiniest scenes or exchanges. Tears not for the romance storyline, but for the familiarity, and the underlying decades of void from not being able to wholly relate to characters on screen. (A likely contributing factor to how much of my formative years were spent nose-deep in books - words on a page were just more readily relatable and pliable enough to insert myself into their fictitious worlds.)
I recently had the pleasure to work with the creative team behind Self-ish for the Vancouver Fringe Festival. To watch them receive the platform and acknowledgement for their talent (Pick of the Fringe!) paid off in spades.
Diversity and true representation is fucking important. Love and light for the next generation.

“I learned the hard way that I cannot always count on others to respect my feelings - even if I respect theirs. Being a good person doesn’t guarantee that others will be good people. You only have control over yourself and how you choose to be as a person. As for others, you can only choose to accept them or walk away.”

Throwback to when I used to host Thanksgiving. I am my own worst curse/best competition. Happy Thanksgiving!
Prime rib, bacon-shallot green beans, roasted curried cauliflower, garlic mash, butter thyme mushrooms, pancetta brussels sprouts, corn, Chana masala, balsamic orange-glazed beets.
