Planning and licensing rules didn’t apply to the giants gym, and neither did ownership. If they needed the land and a building was in the way they could flatten it much faster than any demolition crew and they didn’t care what it was, what it was used for and you’d be lucky if they gave you a few minutes to get out. No one had quite understood that when they said they were going nationwide they didn’t mean they were opening up new branches but going to spread out this one across an entire country.
