Can we talk about how cathartic it is to watch Joey struggle with sex for reasons that she doesn’t understand, JUST LIKE SO MANY ACE PEOPLE! Pacey thought it was because of Dawson but it is really Joey just trying to figure out what she was willing to do for the person she loves without ‘giving up’ a fundamental part of herself or just doing it because Pacey wanted her to. It is hard to break down that barrier if you don’t necessarily have any intrinsic desire to do so. I don’t know if Pacey did things exactly right on his end but he sure tried and it would have been helpful for both of them if they had realized how ace Joey was because then the situation MAKES SENSE. Then they could have talked about it and figured out what worked for their relationship within that context.

And ace people can like sex, and some ace people don’t want to have any sex and there are so many different levels of comfort and what ace people are willing/want to do in their relationships. Having sex or not having sex doesn’t make you any less ace than anyone else.

Joey: I offered you Chex mix.

Pacey: And I’m not talking about Chex mix. I’m talking about Tamara and I’m talking about Andie. Let’s just say that those two ladies, they trained me to acquaint studying with... 

Joey: With what? 

Pacey: Sex. I acquaint studying with sex, sex with studying. Now I get studying, but no sex, you understand? So it’s a little hard to get motivated these days.
