April 10,2025
Today, I covered someone’s shift and as I reflect on the experience, I’m truly grateful to be part of such a supportive and welcoming team. It was both an enjoyable and valuable experience that contributed to my growth, both personally and professionally.
Working in a fast-paced environment taught me the importance of staying organized and adaptable. There were certainly moments when balancing this role alongside school and other responsibilities felt overwhelming, but I reminded myself of my purpose and the determination that brought me here. Despite the challenges, I remained focused and committed.
This experience reaffirmed my passion for the aviation industry. It was a meaningful opportunity that I will carry with me moving forward. I had the chance to meet many incredible individuals, and while there were both highs and lows, each moment served as a learning experience that I truly appreciate.

A student wanted to switch positions so today I was SSBD. There wasn’t much that happened today. I went to the gate for the first time in my uniform.
April 5th
I did my first early morning shift, I liked the fact that the shift starts at 5:30 and ends around 10:30
So for these early morning shifts have use Air Transat counters 521-528 and they are where we normally are.
Today it was only Harlincohn and I as students. There’s no SSBD at these counters so we were at Kiosk.

Today was my first day wearing the Cathay uniform. I really like how the uniform is very neat. I was in the SSBD today I love this position because it makes me feel like I’m working and time goes by Faster .
I didn’t go to the gate.
One of the staff found out that one of the passengers had a hoverboard in his luggage and they had to send back for his bag
Hoverboards aren’t allowed it’s a high chance that it will explode.
So when the passenger got back the bag he threw it in the garbage because he had no one to pick it up . He told one of us that we can take it if we wanted but we weren’t sure.
One of the Cathay Managers told us that we can take it if we want but once our shift is done and out of our uniforms
So me and two other girls did rock paper scissors for it lol and I got to take it home
Cx829
Took pictures with the crew and also that day I attempted to do an announcement at the gate but the names were complicated. I got nervous because I didn’t want to mess up
February 6
Another student and I got to go to the gate early so that we could check out the aircraft and take pictures
January 23
I’m back again I had a day off. Today I woke up super early like around 6 and kept snoozing the alarm until I finally got up at 6:30. Today my dad dropped me off and I got the airport around 7:30
Got my morning coffee and it’s not 7:50 and I’m getting a little homework done before I head upstairs for my shift
Upstairs retouched up myself now I’m sitting here waiting for the briefing
I actually had class at 8 so I joined while getting ready class ended early today so that’s good
I do feel a bit sleepy because I woke up super early today
It’s abt 9:15 we just finished the briefing now we’re on break
Today my position is at Ssbd
Today the inbound flight is delayed
Today we have 10 students working
My position was the que today I stayed there for a little. I’m starting to love SSBD so I switched there. SSBD makes time go by faster and makes you feel like your actually working rather than que your just standing and talking
Today the flight was over booked so they were compensating anyone that wanted to take the next day flight
My winter shoes went missing 😭
Took a picture with some of the students that went to the gate
February 2, 2025
My first time going to the gate
Today my position was the que so I just greeted passengers and say “ Hi are you flying with Cathay today “ then i proceed to ask them what class then I direct them to the correct line.
I might some more of my peers and we took pictures when everything was done.
Most of us got to go to the gate some didn’t because they didn’t obtain their raic
So when we got to the gate we were told what to do.
We were told to check the passports , stamp passports and ensure everyone is in the right line
Anyone that has mask as to take it off when we’re checking the passports
We were at gate C30
After everything was finished and passengers boarded we got to go on the bridge to see the airplane push.
We took some pictures and the pilot and first officer waved at as while they were leaving
First day
I’m reflecting on my day as I’m going home in this cab think I took a limousine instead of a cab but that’s besides the point
How was my day …. Well I would say my day was very informative.
Started off my day drinking a coffee
Then I went upstairs and met my peers
After that I went in the change room to fix up and made sure I was properly groomed
Then around 9 we had our briefing
We were told about the flight and how many passengers and our positions
Then we restocked the cart to make sure everything was good and in place
Then we had our break
Around 9:45 We went downstairs to set up the todum at their spots
My position was the kiosk
I assisted passengers to check in and tag their bags and showed them which line to go in
At first I had to watch to see how to do it since it was my first day. I caught on very well and felt like I was doing it for a long time.
Then I got to tag the pilots and flight attendants bag. I was a bit nervous because I had to make sure I didn’t mess it up.
Overall it was a bit tideous but easy once you know what you’re doing and where everything is. Once your working time goes by pretty quick
We finish at around 1:15 today
