I always used to say to myself, 'things get worse before they get better.' Yet, now I've learnt that things won't always get better, sometimes they just change. Things just become different.

"You're a ghost driving a meat coated skeleton made from stardust, what do you have t be scared of?" -Unknown
When youâre dead, they really fix you up. I hope to hell when I do die somebody has sense enough to just dump me in the river or something. Anything except sticking me in a goddam cemetery. People coming and putting a bunch of flowers on your stomach on Sunday, and all that crap. Who wants flowers when youâre dead? Nobody.
J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye (via observando)
Charles Bukowski...my favourite poet. His book 'you get so alone at times that it just makes sense' is the one of the best things I think I've ever bought.

Carne Griffiths- Art using Ink,Tea and Alcohol
Working primarily with calligraphy inks, graphite and liquids, such as tea, brandy and vodka Griffithsâ fascination with drawing focuses on the creation and manipulation of the drawn line. Images explore human, geometric and floral forms, in a combination of both literal and abstract translation and in response to images and situations encountered in daily life. Images are recorded in a dreamlike sense onto the page where physical boundaries are unimportant. His work creates a journey of escapism which focuses on scenes of awe and wonder, projecting a sense of abandonment and inviting the viewer to share and explore this inner realm.

These are just weird but wonderful...
Business card designs for Castles for Rascals...an interior design company who "help busy parents to find all they need to furnish fabulous interiors for their little ones (and big ones) in just one click."

Brief:
Concept 1:
To stay in the same design parameters as âThe Little Black Book for Managersâ , so it has the same look and feel. Play around with the colours of the circle, and keep the black background.Â
Please could we also try a version based on the Little Black Book, but with the colours reversed (blue/green background, black circle).Â
Concept 2:
Notebook/HandbookÂ
To keep along the same lines as a notebook style design, but to take a different slant on it. Either with a band across the middle (like image a & b) or sticker effect as on the front as in image c with a coloured strip down the left and spine as in version c. Â
The use of colour and a striking font, to keep it looking sleek and fresh. Could also try a version with a small patterned background like in image a â this be something along the lines of chatting heads, or speech bubbles to reinforce the conversation idea. Â
Quick mock up...could have spent more time on it...
Mood-board for book covers inspired by journals and note-books...in preparation for designing my own book cover...
Interior design pages I did as practice for magazine layouts.. all about floral patterns using articles and information off of the internet...
