“ Bizarre shit happens everywhere in this town, but I feel like parks is one of the most hot spots, ” she replied with a nod of her head. She was now thinking of the many different times she’d been at the park, having to practically shield her sibling’s eyes at whatever was occurring. She hated taking them anywhere because of how sinful Dayton was, not wanting to see too many bad things. “ Pretty sure in the same afternoon, I’ve seen a threesome, drug deal, and somebody tripping balls, ” she laughed. “ Nice to meet you though, how long have you been living here? ”
“ i think it’s because everyone expects parks to be all mellow and shit, so when something crazy happens, everyone freaks out. ” paige admitted with a shrug. even though that might not have been the case, it was her interpretation of why things happened at parks often. she listened as the other explained the crazy shit she’d seen happen all in one day, and she couldn’t fight back the laughter she gave in response. “ that must have been quite the interesting afternoon. ” she spoke jokingly. “ eight months or so. ” she responded when asked how long she’d been in dayton.
RO could tell this girl wasn’t used to being asked out in this way, and to be honest, he wasn’t used to asking people out this way either. He didn’t know what this meant, or what she was really thinking behind those eyes, but he hoped this wasn’t going to end in total disaster. He tried to avoid drama as much as possible, which was why he’d been single for so long, but sometimes he just did things without really thinking them through - impulsive personality at it’s finest. Of course he took her to his favorite late night spot, a diner that served breakfast 24/7, because who didn’t love eggs in the middle of the night when they were high as fuck? “ Look, they have waffles with eggs and bacon for a face! ” He showed her while turning the menu in her direction, as if she didn’t have one to look at for herself. He was acting like a child, giggling at the revelation even though he’d seen it too many times to count. “ Fine dining at it’s best, right? BEING asked out so nicely was a rarity for paige, so she was quick to accept roman’s offer for dinner. she could get used to being treated with this kind of respect -- even if it was just a ruse to get on her good side. as he began to walk towards the dinner, paige followed along beside him silently. all she could think about now was food, and how delicious it sounded. once they arrived, she took a seat in a booth across from him and immediately began to flip through the menu. hearing his words, paige burst into a fit of giggles. “ you’re such a child. ” she teased with a playful roll of her eyes before returning to look at the menu. when he told her that she could have whatever she wanted, paige smiled softly. “ i’m thinking biscuits and gravy, with a side of scrambled eggs, hash browns, and toast. ” she told him softly. sure, it sounded like a lot, but girl liked her breakfast food.
IF Thea was too obsessed with chocolate she honestly she didn’t care, there were people obsessed with far worse if she was honest; “ Oh tell me about it, but yeah I started off at Alabama then shit happened and I wanted to get as far away as I possibly could and I just wanted something really different like somewhere where I hadn’t been before so here is where I ended up ” she wanted to explain things without going too far into it.
CHOCOLATE wasn’t a bad thing to be obsessed with, so paige was in no hurry to judge thea on her love for it. it was just amusing to her. “ sounds like you just needed a place to start over? ” she asked softly, curious. “ dayton seems like the perfect place to do that. ”
POSEY thought that kindness was the best way to let people know that they could trust her, that it was okay to accept it from her because she wasn’t ever going to ask for something back from them. Was she gullible? Yes, was she vulnerable to people taking advantage of her? Absolutely, did she know this? No she didn’t but what she did know that this was a new citizen in the town of Dayton and her condo needed flowers; “ Flowers is always the best way, where have you moved too? Violet and I live on what we like to call ‘Cornelia Street’ ”
IT had been a while since paige had met someone as seemingly sweet as posey was, but she had to admit that it was a nice break from some of the lesser liked people she had in her life. when asked where she’d moved to, paige smiled softly and answered. “ cherry blossom drive. ”
“ I am assuming that the story you’re talking about happening somewhere in Dayton. If that’s true, I can’t say I’m very surprised. One of the beauties of this odd little town is you can pretty much get your hands on any type of drug out there, ” she replied. Scotty and everyone who ran drugs with him had access to god knows what. If the girl was ever in the mood to try something new, she knew that it wouldn’t take long to get what she wanted. “ I can only hope that he did. I’m Stella by the way. This isn’t the first bizarre story I’ve heard about this place, ” she let out a giggle.
“ yeah, over at the park a couple days ago. ” paige agreed with a nod when the other inquired about the location that her story took place in. “ ain’t that the fuckin’ truth? ” she asked with a laugh at the mention of being able to get anything in this town. paige smiled when the other introduced herself and she figured she’d return the favor. “ paige, and it’s wonderful to meet you. ”
“ That’s more like it, ” Luna agreed with a chuckle as Paige took out her phone to show her the proof of the event. Now that she could see it happening it didn’t seem like such an outlandish idea given the activities Dayton residents regularly undertook. She laughed at the video and shook her head. “ Ok, that’s my goal next time I want to get completely wrecked, anything less than that level of fucked will be disappointing. ” Luna switched her expression to one of mock surprise when Paige answered her question. “ You can read? ” She teased and nudged the other girl playfully before giggling. “ Quiet or not I think you should go back sometime to see what else happens at this tree, things like this could be a regular thing there. ”
PAIGE smiled softly when luna seemed impressed with her ability to have captured it on film. hearing the other’s expression about how she wanted to be like that man the next time that she got fucked up, and she couldn’t help but give her friend a proud expression. when luna teased her about her ability to read, paige just rolled her eyes and playfully shoved her. “ shut the fuck up! i’m smart when i wanna be, okay? ” she spoke to the other with a laugh. “ maybe you should come with me next time. ”
EMMA’S eyes grew wide with the story’s progression, visualizing the interaction in sepia tones in her head. “ I mean, if you hadn’t kept a straight face this guy probably wouldn’t have noticed anyway. Clearly high as hell. ” Things like this make her wonder if there are people out there in the world that tell stories about her, if she had her own coin in tree moments that she can’t remember but are the fuel for other people’s dramatic storytimes. The thought makes her feel just a little sick. “ What happened? Did he eventually leave the tree? ”
“ clearly. ” paige agreed with a laugh when emma mentioned that the guy was likely too far gone to even recognize that she’d been judging him. sure, paige had been fucked up before in her life, but she’d never been THAT fucked up. when asked what happened next, she nodded softly. “ eventually he gave up and just stormed off in a slur of swear words. ”
“ Definitely, yeah, ” she nodded, she doubted that it was good for someone to mix alcohol and drugs, she may destroy her body with alcohol, but it was no way near as bad as mixing the two, “ Me neither, that I know of anyway, but if I did, my friends would be making fun of me until this day, so the possibility is very, very low. ”
PAIGE had been known to mix her substances from time to time, but she’d never done anything that could severely hurt her, at least not DIRECTLY in the moment. in the long run? that was a different story. “ i’m sure if you ask the right people there’s probably something like that out there for me. ”
YEAH, Ro was definitely interested. She was witty, and clearly used to taking charge of a conversation. He liked strong women, ones that could keep him on his toes. Predictable was boring, and boring she was not. “ What pray tell do I do to earn the right to know your thoughts? ” He asked with a raised brow, watching her closely as she stepped towards him. A smile broke out once again on his face when she seemed pleased about him complimenting her face over anything else, though he certainly knew what he was doing with that. “ Well, everythin’ else is great too, but I’m not a total dick. ” He answered before pulling his bottom lip between his teeth. “ Do you maybe wanna grab some dinner? ” Okay, it was way too late for dinner, but that’s when he always ate anyway.
IT wasn’t rare for paige to catch people’s eye, but it wasn’t often that she actually acknowledged their advances and let it lead to anywhere. this one though, this one was different. when he asked what he had to do to know her thoughts, paige just gave him a sly smirk and shrugged. she really had been impressed when he’d complimented something other than her assets, and that alone was deserving of her attention. when he asked her if she wanted to grab dinner, paige hesitate for a moment before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and giving him a nod. “ i’d like that. ” she didn’t care that it was late. she could ALWAYS go for food.
RO just shrugged his shoulders when she said his accent was sexy, pairing it with a small grin, because he knew Americans loved a good British accent. He was lucky in that regard, because it definitely helped with his game, a game that he was really hoping to win right now with this one. “ Of course I would like to know, which is why I asked. ” He replied sarcastically, but of course all in good fun. “ I like your entire face, and not jus’ your accent. Will you tell me now? ” He wagered while wagging his eyebrows.
PAIGE was sure that he’d heard compliments on his accent before, but they hadn’t been from HER, so she felt the need to temporarily add to his ego. not that he needed the help, at least not from what she could tell. he seemed confident enough in himself not to require her assistance. “ see, i could tell you, but what would be the fun in that? i feel like you have to EARN the right to know my thoughts. ” the dirty blonde teased playfully, taking a step closer to the other. “ my FACE? ” she asked with a giggle. “ that’s a new one. normally people tell me they like my ass or my tits, but you went right for face. i can respect that. ”
RO let out a short snicker of a chuckle when Paige made her little joke. She was right though, she was definitely hot. “ I’m glad I amuse you. ” He responded in his slow British drawl, green eyes set on the opposite pair while pulling the corner of his bottom lip between his teeth. “ If you can’t remember what you were talking about, then tell me what you’re thinking about right this second. ” He challenged, keeping his eyes steady on her.
PAIGE had been mostly kidding, but there had been just the slightest bit of seriousness in her words. she knew she was attractive, and it wasn’t unlike her to use it to her advantage. as he spoke again, she smiled softly. “ i like your accent. it’s -- SEXY. ” she mused playfully, continuing on her flirtatious streak. when he asked her to express what was on her mind, paige smirked lightly. “ wouldn’t you like to know? ”
POSEY was a little too much when it came to people pleasing, sometimes she just wanted someone to love her and be so pleased with her or her service that she tried too hard and that definitely showed when it came to over offering; “ Really I don’t mind but look why don’t you tell me a little about what the flowers are for or rather who they are for and maybe we can pick something out together? ”
PAIGE had to admit that she wasn’t surprised that this woman was being so kind to her. she just kinda gave off that vibe. when the other asked for her to explain what the flowers were for, paige just shrugged. “ i’m just trying to decorate my condo with something LIVELY and i figured flowers was the best way. ”
“ Oh my god me too, it usually happens like after one of those really sad movies or perhaps when like you run into someone you didn’t expect or didn’t want to but now they are here and you don’t know how to deal with it, so chocolate is really the only answer or more so solution to this problem ” Okay Thea that was maybe a little too specific for this situation and conversation but the cat was definitely out of the bag now; “ Oh no way that sounds so cool, I’m from Alabama mostly but I’ve been travelling here and there. How did you find your way to Dayton? ”
“ both of those are occasions when chocolate DEFINITELY comes in handy. ” paige agreed with a nod of her head, a smile plastered to her face. this woman might have been a little TOO obsessed with chocolate, but paige assumed there were worse things for someone to be obsessed with -- especially in this town. “ alabama huh? heck of a place to start at and then end up in cali. ” paige hummed with a laugh. “ i’m honestly not sure. i just started exploring california one day and landed here. the rest is history i guess? ”
“ This town breeds it like rabbits do in the summer which again, makes for a really good thing or a really bad thing and for a person who likes to get her nose powdered every now and again I think it’s a relatively good thing ” mentioning how she liked to do a bit of cocaine here and there when the time called for it; “ Which means that you and I need to get out there and party again more. I know I’m getting old but I’m still hot and have it in me you know? ”
“ i agree that it can be a good thing, but sometimes i wonder if it’s really doing more harm than it is good, yknow? ” she asked the blonde with a shrug. she liked to dabble in that world now and again, but never anything TOO serious, and never incredibly often. when kayla admitted that they needed to get out and party, paige laughed and gave her a nod. “ i would be down for that! just say when. ”
