"A regular? No" Kaeden shook his head in reply, "Ive been here maybe twice…why?" he asked curiously as his head titled to the side just a little.
"You look familiar to me. Ever live in Athens?" Parker was feeling annoyed, who was this guy and why the hell was he so familiar? "Maybe you just have one of those faces."
"No…no, I was just about to get in line but evidently got distracted" the vocalist admitted sheepishly with an equally sheepish smile as he instinctively took a small step back.
"You're fine." Parker looked at the other carefully, why was he so familiar? "Are you a regular at this starbucks?"
Kaeden turned his head toward the voice that spoke, brow raised curiously, “O-Oh, sorry. Am I in the way?” he questioned as he pulled a headphone out of his ear, not realizing the other had asked a question.
"I... Oh, no, not at all. I thought you wanted something." Parker rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. "Sorry."
"That’s funny, ‘cause I was convinced by now that I held that throne." He chuckled, rubbing at his arm. "Nah. I can handle it. I slap him whenever he’s being especially stupid."
"You? A bad boy? No, I can't see it. You're too good of a person." Parker stretched his legs out and nodded. "I know you can, but if you ever just need a little extra intimidation on the side let me know. I can yell at this guy in Greek and wave my hands around. Scary foreign guy, eh?"
He giggled, playfully wiggling his hips. "We bring in everyone, mainly guys though, but we get all kinds of people. Obviously no littluns, there’s drink around. I can put you on the list and you’ll be able to meet other people on the list and make friends with them."
"I don't know, what if the only friend I want to make tonight is you?" Parker raised an eyebrow, grinning cheekily at the stranger. "I'm Parker Liakos, a pleasure to meet you."
"Is that what you call yourself?" He grinned in a characteristic way, mentally kicking himself after. The suggestive glance made his heart skip but he didn’t read into it. "Yeah… I thought it could all go under the rug, but he won’t let go."
"I'm the baddest of them all, number one bad boy." Parker ran a hand through his hair and posed dramatically of them all. "What a fucking creep, do you want me to do anything about it?"
"I will appreciate so very much of you, I promise this." He sighed, wincing as his head throbbing but a little huff of air escaped him as the hand soothed at his back "Magical hands." He mused before shrugged a tad at the question "Sì, no… I suppose. Declan."
"Magical hands is right, mister." They managed to get outside, the cool air hitting them. "Declan... Declan... Not ringing a bell, he must not be important enough for me to remember."
"I’m the star of the show, baby." He grinned, "People pay money to be this close to me. You should come see what I can do. Maybe you’ll find someone to bring home. We’re known for our matchmaking."
"They pay money? I'm honored, then." Parker hummed in thought. "What type of audience do you exactly bring in?" He asked with a slight smile. "You have me intrigued."
"I’m offering you lights, music, candy, drinks and most of all, me, baby." He smiled, examining his handiwork of the card. "Make the most of your evenings, spend them among friends, with me, sweetie. I work at the Candy Club just down the road. I’m the headlining act, kitten."
"Candy Club?" Parker quirked an eyebrow. "Never heard of it. You're some sort of performer then?"
"Yeah." Jim said, already regretting telling Parker the truth, but also trusting him enough to not worry too much. "He had enemies." Was what he said, going a tad bit pale when recalling that Remy had gotten shot for his sake in actuality. Jim still considered him a dumb ass. Jim wouldn’t ask anyone take a bullet for him. "It’s the old flame part that’s really the trouble, but I’ve handled it." Not really.
"Sounds like you like bad boys." Parker lulled his head to the side and gave Jim a suggestive look. "Did it bring up some shit you tried ignoring when you saw him? That shit is rough."
"I am not big baby." The older gentleman nearly whined as he took the offered hand "Grazie, bello… I never appreciate enough for having you." He groaned as he got to his feet, head falling into his hands as it pulsated angrily.
"No one ever appreciates me enough." Parker sighed dramatically before dropping a hand against Ric's back and rubbing it soothingly. "Any reason for such heavy drinking?"
"Yes, I was just wondering as to what you’re doing tonight?" He smiled, gently offering him a small card with an address of a nightclub on it. "I’m on my break too."
"It depends, are you offering something exciting for tonight?" Parker examined the card. "Where do you work?"
"Well for me, I worked multiple jobs to make sure I could afford college and look at me now. Good paying job, doing something i’m passionate about. It’s all about the mindset and working hard for what you want."
"You act like these people aren't working hard. The multiple jobs you had, did you like all of them? How do you know people with shitty jobs aren't doing the same thing you are? You're being a hypocrite."
Jim felt heat on his neck, it was nice to have such an offer, even though he knew it extended so far. He’d come to terms that that was for the best though. “Thanks man..” He mutters, roused again by the innocent pat. “Ugh, fine… an old flame of mine got shot, and he expects me to take care of him.” He spoke in present tense, but of course it had been a long while since the mob prince collapsed bloody on his doorstep. The moron. “The best distraction.” Really, the only distraction, Parker was very capable of making Jim focus on only him, without any effort.
"Fuckin' got shot? Like with a gun?" Parker leaned against the bench and let out a long sigh. "That's heavy shit, but fuck that guy if he expects you to drop everything and coddle him. Why'd he get shot?"
"I’d rather not, atually. The past should be left as such, don’t you think? If we both had to take some time to think about who the other was, was it really that important?”
"It's going to bother me if you don't."
Ric opened his eyes, blue gaze meeting a familiar one "Do not be cruel." He sighed, leaning into the cool touch "Too much of the drink." He admitted quietly, letting his eyes shut again.
"Come on you big baby, I'll get you a cab." Parker outstretched his hand for the older man to grasp onto.
"One of what people? You make your life the way you want it. If you want it to be better, there are plenty of chance to do it."
"That's fucking stupid," Parker scoffed. "I want a million dollars but is it possible to go get that in a single day? No, you have to make sacrifices and settle sometimes before things get better. How about you enlighten me on those chances to make my life better since you're an expert?"
