Merry Christmas all :D I had my celebrations yesterday, but i hope everyone's having a good holiday :D In the meantime, i decided to make some talk sprites for when i next do a stream. which might take a bit. My poor little microphone finally ate the big one, so i have to replace it soonish.
They're based on purple crowned fairy wren.
technically only the males have this coloring, but we're gonna ignore that XD
I am going to eat this entire candy cane.
You’re going to get a cavity

30 min later, not much progress.
Its been an hour. I bit my tongue, my teeth hurts and I’m almost halfway done…
One hour and half done. That’s impressive That takes real skill and perseverance
an hour and a half. my grandma called and I didnt take it so i could eat this… i hate everything
i’d rather be eating anything but this
two and a half hours…. my mouth will never taste normal again
3 fucking hours
I’ve tasted Satans asshole and it tastes like 3 hours of mint.
Please. Please don’t bring this back.
‘Tis the season.

Don't know if you've done this before, but just in case~
Got everything blocked in, once it dries i can start on color :3
also reblogging because still proud of this :3
Rehashing a current piece:
Didn't like how this one looked, didn't show enough turmoil and didn't really feel like the grief i was suffering at the time ~~still am, honestly~~ so i've got some wip images from sketch to base layer.
These are the sketch and color tests. didn't need to be exact for the color tests since color was all the context i needed so they're suuuuper messy.
had to reset the painting so i used a neutral grey, and then added in an abstract reference of light and shadow for the background to prepare it for the next steps.
Self reblog because i'm proud of this :3

New busywork
I crochet as a way to subtle stim, and tend to burn through projects rather quickly. I've started a new project, it will eventually be a small throw blanket. The yarn is a light chenille, but has a good weight to it, making for a good light weighted blanket.
Two prints available online, 10 available each
A five by seven print of an orange Spinosaur detailed in oil pastels. Note: this is a print, not an original
A 5 by 7 inch print of a large dragon overseeing a mountain range done in oil pastels. Note: it's a print, not an original.
My Spino is done :3 decided to do a lil paleo art because who doesn't love a good dino? done in Oil Pastels on what i think was a watercolor sketchbook? but the texture is perfect for oil pastels soooooooo XD he's an eepy baby boi
Doing a little paleoart because i deserve nice things :3 have a spinosaur splootin
Only got the background in so far but i'm happy with it :3 Oil pastels still scare me but i'm getting the hang of them
Self Promo: ya'll are missing out if you aren't following my pretty little art blog XD Not saying Paint is judging you, but Paint might be judging you >3>
Finished another practice run with the oil pastels :3 still not quite where i want to be with them, but i really like how they layer similar to oil paints
another page of horses XD this time i was focusing on friesians, so i thought using my little six pan palette of kuretake graphite colors would fit the theme very well since it's a predominantly black breed. also used poscas again. though i'm not sure i like the colors i chose for this one.
bought a new supply item to test out with travel art. Sprung for some pretty expensive oil pastels, but they're quite pleasant to work with, if a bit messy. Plus they use natural pigments so gloves are suggested to avoid handling carcinogens in the pigments.
Did a quick study of a native wren species to get a feel for them, and i'm rather impressed. they're not great for detail work, but for field studies and plein air where time isn't always on the artist's side they're fantastic.
Finished the page in my sketchbook :3 love the variation you can get just swapping around a few colors here and there on each horse.
