Here’s two artworks I finished while working on designing environments for Raven’s Gap, the fictional Appalachian town I’ve been spending the past like… year…. slowly building. haha.

It mixes the warmth of a scenic mountain town with the isolating and uncanny vibes of a place overflowing with strange energy. The wolf and the glitch deer are two of my fave town staples as the creepy wildlife goes so far.

Shout out to Appalachia and all its beauty and strangeness.

It was time to buckle down, stare at pretty pictures of Appalachia, watch concept artists make magic I can’t fathom, and test out different brushes to finally start making the world in my head a real place. They look so real in their town environment. They are real to me 🥺

Local investigative reporter Ramona Hawthorne certainly has her hands full lately. Folks keep calling in about a huge wolf sighting, technology is going haywire, and the Static is leaving new confusing mysteries for her everywhere. Fortunately, her 17 year old kid is able to take care of herself at home while she works later hours when her boss sends her to cover more stories. Totally behaving. Not the cause of any of these extra issues. That would be crazy. 👀

This is Maddie: Frontwoman for my OC BAND, Dressed For Terror!

I knew from the beginning I wanted to have a girl as the singer. While looking into inspiration for her, it wasn’t hard to notice the lack of women in the scene at this time. Even less of them were POC. So Maddie is a trendsetter in many ways and damn it, I love her. She brings a lot of energy and vibrancy to the band’s sound. And she isn’t afraid to stand out and do her own thing. One of Tara’s best friends and stylistically her antithesis :P She also runs their blog under MaddiexMayhem 🧡

Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈 To start June off strong, I drew my own gay idiots and colored it in the style of the Green Yuri covers because I’m obsessed with the series and art style AAAAAGH.

I am in fact writing a comic featuring these two… just a reminder. In case you like them. They may not look like they love each other here, but trust the process: they have a happy end game (eventually).

I’ve been wanting to draw Tara in a lil black and red vest/tie type outfit for so long. I feel like this is how she feels in her head when she plays music lol.

Yippeeee, finished another ref page so I’ll post another character this week: this is Gavin! He’s been next door neighbors and besties with Sonny since they were in elementary school. Gavin is full of enthusiasm and energy but he doesn’t always do great when it comes to finishing his homework. He’s a big fan of sick guitar riffs and cool dinosaurs though.
