I haven’t read the comics but I’ve seen some. Now, I’m not sure how much of the original Spider-Man 2099 lore they used for ATSV Miguel but I’m just going to assume they included his parents and Dana in ATSV Miguel’s backstory. So if I understand correctly, his dad is abusive and Miguel doesn’t have the best relationship with his mom? I’m not sure, please correct me if I’m wrong!

I know that Beyond The Spiderverse will not wrap up in a neat bow and that the voice actor for Miles’ dad said that there would be a lot of tears so a lot of favorite characters could be dying.

I’m afraid Miguel could be be dying in BTSV and even if he doesn’t, I feel like he won’t be getting a happy ending :(

Miguel usually gets a haopy ending in the comics. Original 2099 ending was him marrying his ex Xina and basically leading the world into a better future. In the retconnef ending his dimension was destroyed and he was sent to modern day 616 to live with his girlfriend and their son. Miguel from Exiles was stranded in a modern day universe, got engaged to that world's Mary Jane and became a chef. He died jn fhe first Spider verse event but would have been revived in the last.

The throughline with him tends to be his entire life is hard, full of abuse and exploitation that made him a cynical, selfish person that really begins to see how bad his world is, becomes a hero and eventually gets a happy ending at the end of all his suffering and sacrifice.

It's Disney not giving a shit that character designs that work in a stylized animated work look like garbage ehten you try to translate it to live action.

If there was ever a reason to campaign for animation, it's this

DISNEY of all people following the Hollywood trend of diluting the colors of it's live-action remakes (likely in the "we want it to be realistic" vein) astounds me. If their animated films were still good, I'd say this was a ploy to get more attention for them instead of the live-action films.

The hair as well.

Disney spent millions on new software and spent a lot of effort on getting good references for how Moana's hair would move and react in different situations, but with the live action they straightened the actress's hair despite it being more accurate to Moana's looks because why? It's easier to chroma key straight hair over shitty CGI? Curly hair is more unpredictable in real life and might not always look Hollywood?

The animated movie was about effort and art and making sure the character looked just right for the people it was representing and the LAR is about cutting corners and being more glamorous or something. I'm sure they'll eventually try to put out an excuse they think is acceptable that will just make them look worse, but for now these are the only reasons I can think of they did this shit.

Honestly I don’t believe that explanation that many were hung up on. For “Gone with the wind” the title ALSO was in quotation marks so I don’t ever believe this much focus/justification for a clearly mismanaged adaptation.

Thinking about the fact that Miguel has a son named Gabri with Tempest, and daughter named Gabriella with someone else. Both of them likely named after his brother, Gabe.
