These stunning photographs of Hong Kong in the 1950s are captured beautifully by a teenager. Ho Fan who arrived from Shanghai in 1949. The streets, filled with vendors, coolies and rickshaw drivers, fascinated Ho. Taking pictures in a studio was the norm then, but the Ho was more interested in r
His name is Ho Fan, and these pictures are from his book, “A Hong Kong Memoir.”

Why aren’t we talking about this??!!
this is important!
“Yousuf, a 24-year-old Hindu, served as a U.S. Marine in Afghanistan. On Saturday night, the combat zone followed him to Orlando.
He ended up saving dozens of lives.
“The initial one was three or four (shots). That was a shock. Three of four shots go off and you could tell it was a high caliber,” he said. “Everyone froze. I’m here in the back and I saw people start pouring into the back hallway, and they just sardine pack everyone.”
“And I’m screaming ‘Open the door! Open the door!’ And no one is moving because they are scared,” he explained. “There was only one choice. Either we all stay there and we all die, or I could take the chance, and I jumped over to open that latch a we got everyone that we can out of there.”
How many people went through the door?
“Probably over 60, 70. As soon as people found that door was open they kept pouring out and after that we just ran,” he explained.
He saved a lot of people. “
Beautiful.
Me: Do you think they make cleaning solutions taste bad so we don't drink them?
You: How do you know they taste bad?
Me: *dies*
To anyone with suicidal thoughts this year, thank you for sticking around. I'm so glad you are here.

Is there a way to boycott A&E (the network running it?) Or can we send lots of angry letters?
I already don’t watch them but it would be good to know who’s putting ads in that show and boycott them. Getting advertisers to back out is the most effective thing.
oh dear fucking god.
This is a list of A&E’s sponsors if anyone’s interested:

You can also contact A&E directly at [email protected].
So I don’t remember where the scources are, but I think A&E has talked about it on their facebook page? Basically this show is not about glorifying the Klan. This show is about helping people escape from Klan. Helping people get themselves and their children out of families who are embedded in the Klan and trying to keep them from brainwashing little kids.
So I checked and turns out that’s true!
The documentary IS anti-KKK and about trying to get people, including children and families, out of it. Be warned before watching the video, there’s a lot of racist imagery in it
Instead of bycotting A&E and this show, this is exactly the kind of show that NEEDS SUPPORT, now more than ever
Guys, fact checking is extremely important.
jesus fucking christ
you can find all of A&E’s sponsors but you can’t look up to see what the show is actually about
Followers for Flint Holiday Charity Drive!
I have been thinking about ways we can use our blog and our WoW RP community to connect and spread good tidings. With that in mind, I’ve decided to run a charity drive this year. Depending on how successfully it goes - we may make this an annual event! I am hoping you guys will jump on board and help us make this lots of fun for a good cause.
Our charity for 2016 is The United Way of Genesee County - Flint Water Fund.
“The United Way of Genesee County has set up this fund for the purchase of filters, bottled water, emergency support services and prevention efforts. 100% of the fund is used for these projects and no Administrative Fee is assessed.”
For every Like & Reblog we get, we will donate $1.
For every new follower we get, we will donate $10.
We will cap out at $500 or December 31st, whichever comes first.
Help us meet our goal! Like, Reblog, BOOST! Tell your friends! We welcome all followers - but especially love WoW & Roleplay blogs.
Happy Holidays!
xoxo
Our Collective Fantasy
As of 12-16-16 we have so far raised $126 for Flint! Awesome job, guys! And we can do even better!
Remember that ALL REBLOGS donate $1!
It’s doesnt have to be just your main OC blog. Reblog on your alt blogs, your OOC blogs, your completely unrelated fandom blogs. Every boost counts. Got 20 blogs? Great! That’s $20! Lets raise some more cash. Flint still needs our help!
