Are you interested in writing? The Palestine Writing Workshop (PWW) is always looking for writers to contribute creative stories through images, quotes, articles, poetry, short stories, and other forms.
Previous blogging experience is not necessary.
Our blog offers a platform for voices in and around Palestine to share stories and claim
and exercise creative expression, thereby creating space for engagement.
Submissions
Send an email to [email protected] with the following items in English or Arabic:
1. Attach your submission to the email in Microsoft Word format. We will not accept PDF files or articles copied into the body of the email. Below is our criteria for what we accept as material for PWW Blog. Please follow carefully:
Material: We are open to different forms of expression that explore storytelling and expand ways of “writing” which could include the following forms: prose, poetry, short stories, non-fiction, artwork and photo stories, regardless what the photo(s) and artwork entails.
Length: Should be between 1-1000 words.
Language: This is a bilingual blog in Arabic and English. We will post in the language of submission. However, sometimes we may choose to translate a submission into the other language, in this case we will contact you and let you know.
Style: Even we as PWW blog editors have different styles of writing, and so we encourage contributing writers to use their own styles as well. Remember, however, that this is an online creative blog and not an academic journal.
Pictures and videos are strongly encouraged. Upload photos and videos to Vimeo and Flickr, and only include link to picture(s) and/or video(s) within the body of the email.

Properly cite sources, including links. Do NOT use footnotes (this is a blog, not an academic journal). On Word, include links within your text using the format below:

For example: The workshops covered a number of aspects in creative forms of writing <http://palestineworkshop.org>, and included writing about culture.
Original Work: This blog posts original work ONLY. Even if you love a quote, we will not post a submission without proper referencing. We take plagiarism very seriously; if there is any plagiarism in submission, we will not accept your work, nor will we accept or consider further work from the sender.
2. Subject line (via email) should read with your first and last name: “Firstname Lastname Submission” (for example: Laila Hammad Submission).
3. Your favorite post on the PWW blog and why.
4. A brief bio of yourself in one paragraph (approx. 3-5 sentences).
An editor will review your article and get back to you within 7-10 days. If this is a submission that you want posted on a specific date, please give us plenty of time to review (4 weeks).
