Yesterday I was kind of like a Dan Choan short story character because two bad things have recently happened to my family members, one involving serious criminal charges and one involving serious medical discovery, and then I had a dream about something sad happening to a person who I have not been in contact with for awhile and spent the day unable to shake the feeling that something bad had happened to them in real life and feeling very sad for them. I no longer entertain superstitious notions so today I know that this is not a terrible sign that something actually happened to this person, merely a fabrication due to stress.

The internet news said that protein powder has lead in it so now I eat a tofu smoothie.

My stomach hurts from the stomach hurting foods that I usually avoid but felt the need to consume today to power me through writing a paper that I am having a hard time writing

Since my wedding in June I have been holding a “contest” in my head about which finger would have the last remaining big piece of gel polish. And now in September Right Thumb has won!! Other fingers have a little speck left over but Right Thumb has a chunk still. Congrats. I also have some leftover polish one my toes which was from a regular polish pedicure I got in May. Charlotte got gel mani and pedi in June and she picked all the fingernail polish off pretty soon after the wedding but her toenails are still going strong. After this I don’t want gel polish ever again because of the UV and the chemical and the fingernail weakening. I want to become able to paint my wife’s nails neatly like a professional to save us money

Got back from our wedding trip to a heatwave, giving the guinea pigs ice to play with. Had a small piece of glass stuck in my foot all yesterday, successfully got it out this morning using beauty tools and epsom salt that my sister gifted us for the wedding. Charlotte needed sleep after all the excitement so she took medicine, she has been snoozing all day instead of her usual waking up at 6 or 7. Kind of reminds me of when we were first dating and she was a little more of a sleepy stoner (but also biked 30 miles everyday). 👰‍♀️👰👰‍♀️👰👰‍♀️👰👰‍♀️👰

Teeth update

My cat had dental surgery and lost her bottom canines. Poor thing, it is so hard to clean her teeth but I am going to try harder now

A piece of my tooth broke off today. It has like a weird old filling and has been overdue for a root canal re-treatment

Teeth are extremely expensive

Me and my wife bought a used glo gang jacket for $6 and in the pockets we found half of a folded up birth certificate, a White Castle receipt, and an empty weed bag of a guy named Antonio. I hope he is okay and just accidentally lost his jacket or his ex threw it away or something. We bought it from a random store that had just opened that was selling like aliexpress merchandise but had one small rack of used clothing. Mysterious Chicago occursnce

Food Blog:

Corn chips dipped in congee (forgot a fork for the congee so bought $1 chips and salsa to get a fork)

Home blog:

Bought two space heaters to try and make home not be 62 degrees, blew a fuse twice and still waiting for landlord to reset. Embarrassing!

I am glad that I have a home and food!

Hair blog:

Only had a tiny bit of my shampoo bar left so hair turned out greasy. My shampoo and conditioner bars i like appear to be discontinued. Made the odd choice to put castor oil in my hair to add to the grease. Will shampoo with regular urban essences tonight

Feel neutral toward having hair. The upkeep is kind of bothersome, but it also helps people like you and hire you at a job

Addendum to hair blog:

For the past years I avoided using a hair dryer because I didn’t want heat damage to my hair. Within this year, I went to a Chinese medicine doctor and decided to be serious about avoiding cold when possible for health. Another Chinese friend told me you shouldn’t go to sleep with wet hair. So now I dry my hair again
