Palouse Bicycle Racing is a USA Cycling-sanctioned club dedicated to sharing the sport of cycling with riders of all ages and abilities, with a particular focus on developing junior racers.

The old guys were a little bit slower, and the young guys were a little bit faster, but in the end it was vintage Wild Wednesday on the Palouse.

On June 18, PBR and Moscow Parks and Recreation hosted the first kids cross race at the Moscow Cyclocross Park. There was some impressive racing all around!

Palouse Bicycle Racing hosted its 3rd Annual Youth Clinic on June 11 at Moscow’s new cyclocross park. We had almost 30 riders show up. It was great to see them ripping around the new course!

PBR "senior” junior racer Dylan Pollard is off to a strong start this spring. Here’s Dylan en route to a 2nd place finish at Beacon and Legs on Saturday. On Sunday, he finished 2nd on the road at the Ronde Van Palouse. Keep it up, Dylan!

A bunch of kids showed up at Sky Ranch yesterday to learn the ways of 'cross. So fun to see all these chargers having fun out on the course. The weather even cooperated by supplying a taste of mud!

Bicycling can be so much more than just a way for kids to get to school and back! Palouse Bicycle Racing will conduct two youth cycling clinics covering the basics of bicycle safety, maintenance, and riding skills while introducing kids to the fun of cyclocross and pump tracks, and promoting bicycling as a healthy lifelong activity that is just plain fun! Participants will be divided into groups based on previous experience, age, and skill level. Both events are suitable for younger riders still on “striders”. Clinics will be held at the Sky Ranch Cyclocross Course (June 12) and at the PCEI Pump Track (June 14). Follow the link to register.

A skeleton crew of PBR racers and PBR friends went up to the Beezley Burn in Ephrata on Saturday. Both Natalie Wagenbrenner (PBR) and Ciara MacDonald (Rad Racing) won their races in the Cat 2 field, and Jerry Long (Vertical Earth) was the fastest overall in the Cat 1 race. The Pollard family (PBR) had less luck. Dylan suffered two flats and some nasty chain suck, and Matt realized he's been working too much this year. But we did get a photo of Matt ahead of someone to prove he wasn't DFL :)

It was a great race and we hope to see more PBR racers out at the next Vicious Cycle race in Spokane on April 26th. Nice work everyone!

The route was tough, the weather was cold and the pace got a little wild, but a bunch of people went for a big ride in the middle of winter and had fun, and that's pretty cool. Feb Fondo, anyone?
