in which you, an uremia patient who has been desperately trying to find an organ donor for years and suddenly an annoying guy wont leave you alone because of a video you posted. (heavily inspired by viva la vida 2024)
where vlogger!reader who just moved into a new home and decided to give out housewarming gifts to her neighbors,,, just to find out her next door neighbor is her online crush ,akaashi who is a "study with me" live streamer eep (..◜ᴗ◝..) hejwjdks
you kept playing the video you recorded over and over again, your voice echoing against the wall of your bedroom along with the sounds of trains passing by and a neighbor watching the television too loud accompanying you.
each replay of the video made you cringe harder, the video that you had recorded on impulse after another visit to the hospital for a checkup. the constant dialysis hospital visits, strict food monitoring and waiting for a kidney donor for so long, its tiring you everyday.
it was a pathetic attempt, for you at least, with the video showing you with reddening nose and tears threatening to spill from your eyes, trying to explain your medical condition and your story to nobody in particular.
you continued watching you in the video, begging for a miracle (or a savior?) for exactly 3 minutes and 47 seconds. without thinking, you mindlessly pressed the forward button, sending the video to a group chat on twitter specifically for other patients with illness like you.
for a second, it felt like something heavy was lifted off your shoulder. you looked away from your phone to rest your eye just for a while,
without warning, the video automatically plays again. "hi," you in the video began, "im an uremia patient, residing in tokyo—". you immediately shot up from your laying position, ignoring the dizziness that youll definitely regret later and starts to frantically taps on the delete button to get rid of the video from the group chat.
sighing in relief once the video was deleted from the group chat, you put your phone away onto the side of your pillow. you slowly got back to your previous position from earlier and decided it was time to get a shut eye.
maybe youll be luckier tomorrow morning.

akinori was scrolling on his phone like always, he sat on his couch lazily after he came home from his job. he aimlessly scrolled through X until a notification from a group chat caught his eye.
he tapped on the video sent by a user without any context, he squinted his eyes closer to the screen and hope its not a scammer or even worse- an edgy teenager who just sent gore on the internet.
preparing himself for whats to come, when he tap onto the video, he only sees someone who seemed way too exhausted. he paused the video, taking in sight of the girl who looked like she just finished crying, with dark circles underneath her puffy eyes and a red nose.
akinori continued watching the video on two times speed, "—sorry i didnt really think this through," the girl said which nearly made him smile, but he took note on everything she said.
he learned that she was an uremia patient, who is in dire need of a kidney transplant in hopes to live a peaceful life and that she would do anything for a donor. akinori has seen many videos similar to this, where someone would beg for a miracle yet he still cant find himself to scroll away from the girl's video. or to be more specific, he felt pity for her.
though, before he could rewind the video, the app notified him that the video was no longer available to be viewed.
he frowned, "she deleted it?" akinori said to no one in particular. he clicked onto her user and stared at her profile, it wasnt anything fancy. it was just an ordinary profile with photos and mini updates of her life, akinori noted that there wasnt any fundraiser links or something that could directly helped the pitiful girl.
so on impulse, he immediately followed her and sent her a message. actually maybe he shouldve thought this through.. but oh well.
