Topanga Lawrence was lucky enough to find love early in her life, with Cory Matthews. Through the ups and downs, they never ceased to remain completely committed to one another, so when it came to fulfilling her life-long dream of becoming a career woman lawyer, her husband stood by her.
When she was twenty-one, she and Cory welcomed their first child. Life was especially difficult balancing a newborn and Law school, but with the help of friends and family, she was still able to graduate top of her class and went straight into practicing with one of New York’s most prestigious firms. Within two years, she rose in the ranks and became one of the top lawyers.
At that point, life began to slow down. She and Cory enjoyed life with little Riley, while keeping up with other things. On Riley’s eighth birthday, Topanga told her daughter she was going to be a big sister, and a few months later, gave birth to August Matthews. Now, five years later, Topanga’s feeling that her life has finally come into place, and that she’s exactly where she belongs, working part-time at the firm and managing the bakery. The only thing that can hinder life now is the many teenage problems she’s going to face once again through her daughter.

Cory Matthews - Cory is without a doubt, the love of her life. Having been together for easily the past twenty years, these two have a bond that exceeds most couples their age. Having overcome lots of trials and tribulations early in their marriage, Cory and Topanga have come to prove that nothing is more powerful than true love.
Riley Matthews - Riley is Topanga’s fourteen year old daughter. Born when she was just twetny-one, Topanga feels very close to her due to being able to understand and remember exactly what Riley’s thinking or feeling in any situation. They have an excellent relationship, equal to that between Topanga and Auggie.
Maya Hart - Maya is what Topanga calls her “surrogate daughter.” She’s watched Maya grow up from a little rascal that climbed through Riley’s window into a stong, independent young woman. As much as it scares her to see how much Maya has grown, it makes her extremely proud to know that she has had at least some impact on who she is.
Shawn Hunter - Topanga’s oldest friend, Shawn is one of the kindest, most supportive guys around. Their friendship was rocky at first, but with time it became one that brought great happiness into both their lives. Topanga would do just about anything for Shawn, as he would for her.
Eve Dawson - Eve is Topanga’s neice, born to her older sister, Nebula. Since losing her sister, Topanga tries her best to keep a close relationship with her neice, as she reminds her of her sister. Now that Eve is in college nearby, Topanga is very excited to have a chance to build on their already great relationship.
