I'm actually kind of pissed. This is the second last season, this shapes the end of voltron. And not only did the creators not stand up to the plate and provide an LGBTQ+ relationship like hinted so many times, and high key confirmed by the creators, they also stopped any hope of a productive, healthy, not rushed, not hetero relationship from happening. I see alot of people saying they might leave the fandom, and honestly, can you blame them? The queerbaiting is terrible and out right. Dispite that, I don't think I'll leave. I still hold out hope they will do the right thing, provide representation like they claimed to want to do. I am just wishing so hard that something good comes of this show because it isn't all bad (strong main characters that are POC and such). I dont know. I am just waiting and crossing my fingers that season 8 will bring it back

So I know that a lot of people are going to leave the Voltron fandom after this season. Which sucks, but I think I’m going to have to join them. When I found out that shiro was LGBT it was the most comfortable i have ever felt with my sexuality. But then they killed of Adam. The literal trope of killing off the gays, they did it. I know the creators arent homophobic(korrasami) but they could have handled that so much better. When I found out Adam died I literally cried. I cried because a character died, but mainly because it just shows that LGBT characters with healthy relationships will be killed off or non existent. And it just makes me feel so ashamed and sad. It’s so unfair because I know I shouldn’t be feeling this way but I do. No I’m not going to harrass the creators or anything like that ( I’m sure they will be bombarded on Twitter). But… I need a break. Voltron made me comfortable with who I am and then they just stomped on it.

Before I watched the season I was just thinking about how lucky we are that LGBT can be potrayed so we’ll in media for younger kids. I guess we’re not there yet.

I am all for LGBT presentation. The only reason I watched voltron, despite its writing, was the hope of LGBT presentation.

But Jesus, why did Adam have to die? Was there a need to? Was it to further the plot? Characters? Shock value? The death felt hollow. Empty, even? Why did Adam have to die if the death felt unnecessary.

The whole “Shiro is gay” thing blew off. People who didn’t even watch Voltron was celebrating it because it was a huge deal! Finally a gay, disabled, asian character on a kids tv! A positive relationship between men!

But really, Why did Adam have to die? It didn’t even affect Shiro that much! Why did Voltron have to hype it so much! The whole adam and shiro storyline was unnecessary and could’ve been thrown away and you wouldn’t even notice the difference. LGBT+ presentation of the year!

Man, Voltron: legendary disappointment .
