theodore allowed himself to laugh, the first genuine laugh to escape his lips in a very long time, for a moment it almost felt like they were back at hogwarts, sitting around the common room fire. an emphasis on almost, their time at hogwarts had come and gone, and the jarring music was more than enough to pull him from his fantasy. still, it was a nice memory, but it wouldn’t last. pausing briefly to drink from the flask concealed in his sleeve, he allowed a smile to appear on his face as he continued watching his friend. “celestina is obviously some sort of mind control device, meant to brainwash people over the age of fifty,” he replied, his words dripping with sarcasm.

Theodore’s laugh was the most pleasant sound that Pansy had heard all evening. It was much less harsh than hers, which had an ever-present mocking tone, and she enjoyed it. Not that Theo hadn’t mocked people, she knew he had, but Pansy couldn’t even pretend that she hadn’t. Her laugh was condescending and gave away her true nature immediately. It sounded hollow even when it was genuine, as it was then. “I’m inclined to believe that, Mr. Nott. The people in this room do seem hypnotised and completely at her disposal. What do you think she’s going to have them do?”

who was your first kiss, and if you had to choose, who would be your last kiss?

Draco was my first kiss. We were 13? I want to say, somewhere around that age. I don’t entirely remember. Ideally, there wouldn’t be a last kiss. The entire concept implies that I’ll know I’m going to die and I’d really rather not know. Also, it’s disgustingly sentimental, isn’t it? But, if I had to choose, and I mean if I was actually forced ... I would probably choose Draco. He’s the person I’m closest to in the whole world, he means more to me than anyone else does, and it would be a bit full circle, which seems to match the unbearable sentimentality of it all.

Excuse me? I am not friend-zoning Draco! We are best friends, yes, but I’m certain there’s no romantic feelings on his end. Did we go to the Yule Ball together? Yes. Have we kissed? Also yes. But that was so long ago! Ten years!! We’re more likely to complain about our individual romantic pursuits to each other than attempt to engage in any together.

I’m always the one being punished for your mistakes,” she added as she finished her glass of champagne and reached for his. She wasn’t really angry with him, of course, she could could never really be angry with him, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to play it up.

Pansy noticed that, despite the fact that they were having a conversation, Professor Trelawney had not turned to look at her. Whatever, it’s not like Pansy really cared. But it was a bit rude. She supposed Trelawney was looking at her with her inner eye or something like that. And yet, she still couldn’t detect Pansy’s sarcasm. “No, can’t say I do remember that. Tell me, though, what was the great songstress like while at school? Did she always have such a flare for the dramatics?” she said with a forced smile, hoping to get a legitimate answer out of the professor.
