“How does it go again, Danyelle? First comes crying, then laughing, then freaking out?” “Screaming! Screaming your ass out.” Support the Girls (2018) Directed by Andrew Bujalski Cinematography by Matthias Grunsky
“Christmas was coming. One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts woke to find itself covered in several feet of snow.”
Please watch the movie 12 Angry Men (the 1957 original). It’s so fucking good. It’s considered a classic for damn good reason.
The story is about 12 men on a jury for a murder trial, and they must reach a unanimous verdict. The movie starts with 11 out of them thinking the defendant is guilty and only 1 not being sure, and through the movie the 12 of them debate and argue about the case.
The movie just got amazing character writing. Each of the jurors has a solid background, and a well-defined and consistent personality with his own biases and opinions and motivations and his own viewpoint. Watching these personalities clash is a great experience.
The murder mystery itself is also very interesting, and the jurors go over it methodically, examining the evidence and one-by-one dismantling the prosecutor’s case as they do.
It’s also got great dialog and great acting from the entire cast.
It’s just a delight to watch.
After you watch it, you should watch Counter Argument’s 5-part video series analysing the movie and coming to conclusions about debates from it.
After the Civil War, the man who owned this plantation was upset that his slaves were gonna walk away free. When they tried to leave, the old man snapped. Turned into a massacre. Hundreds of slaves - lynchings, burnings, 12 bodies hanging from that tree alone. They buried them in a common grave up on the hill. The fools believe that their souls never rested till Miss Cobbs, an old voodoo woman, bought the place. Legend is, she transferred the souls of the slaves into little dolls. Negro dolls. Word is, they remain in the house right to this day.
There were miracles and there were tragedies. And journeys beyond our wildest dreams. We would travel to many corners of the earth. And find that there’s magic everywhere. And not just on Peter’s island.

Animated Movies you can watch on Youtube
Please try and watch them before they disappear, though some of them are protected by fair use or public domain. I’ve listed them from children’s films, to experimental art piece, to adult animated film and given those bottom movies both their rating and content warnings, as a few of them are definitely horror films and deserve a warning.
