Honestly, I’m not even entirely sure at this point. I think I might have signed something to stop the mildly accusatory tone being thrown my way and before I knew it, I was here. Not just chaperoning, oh no, but participating. Actively. Actually the most amazing idea I’ve had so far is firmly refuting the Under the Sea theme so that wouldn’t happen. They really are something though, those moms. Very friendly. Very…enthused. I’m just trying to keep us on budget at this point.

… Thanks. I’d say I don’t need rescuing but there’s no point fighting it now. The PTA moms’ll thank you.

Well, honey, it doesn’t mean that doing all those things isn’t still on the table. I can also arrange that kind of get-together, if that’s what you really want. I’m sure she’d be amenable. God knows she owes you.

Sounds like you need some space to think. Why don’t you come crash at our house for a couple nights? I don’t like the thought of you staying at home alone, especially since she knows the address. You and Claire can have full control of the living room - all the crappy action movies you want.

You know, if you were on the prom committee, things would be going a lot faster. And I wouldn’t have this complimentary glitter filled folder from them. It is scented though so that’s something.

How did someone rope you into being on the prom committee? And more importantly, what amazing ideas have you contributed thus far? Also how many of the PTA moms have asked you to be Sebastian from the little mermaid if they go with the Under the Sea theme?

Was. ] I know she should have but honestly, I think that might have been worse. My dad- Oh my god, my dad. He can’t know she’s here. Can you even imagine? He opens the door and there stands his long lost wife and baby mama in some very expensive suede pumps? I don’t think so.

Yeah, that... that wouldn’t have been great, you’re right. It’s still - I mean, it’s still such an immature thing to do, though. What’s your endgame here, kid? Do you want me to talk to her, tell her to buzz off? I can do that. I can also facilitate some type of Hallmark movie style dinner reconciliation scene, but that feels a little less up your alley. 

That part’s understandable, at least. You’re pretty great.

See, I’m fully rooting for the Casino Royale theme. I think it’s fun, and it’d be more classy than some of the other options. ‘Night on the Nile’ is just asking for kids to attempt to belly dance, which I so don’t need to see.

What are the other forty two reasons? I hope they’re all as creative as number one. And you do have a point. Mr. MacDonald loves his home country.

Night on the Nile? Someone actually suggested that? Jesus. Also sounds like it could get real racist real fast, in which case Claire’s going to Woodbury Prom this year. 

At least with Casino Royale I could make tuxedo strawberries.

Reason number nineteen is that it romanticizes gambling, but I guess if they play with goldfish there’s no real harm done.

So I’ve heard some people bouncing around Casino Royale as a potential prom theme, and I have compiled a forty-three point list on why that’s a bad idea. 

Number one, the only teacher who could pull off Bond is Mr. MacDonald, and I don’t think he’d betray Scotland like that.

Metaphorically. Metaphorically feels about right, it goes with the beard and the fact that I ate a single peanut last night and it was the greatest thing I have ever tasted. Yeah, it does scream ‘grief’. Pumpkin ch-chocolate chip? Oh well, I mean… I’m not one to be prejudice against the fluffiness of a cookie. Nope, not me.
