With an apparent lack of interest glazing his aging features, Victor surveyed the stranger as he had done, to his surroundings, moments prior. He consumed the silence - allowing the words to fall from the other’s lips before opting to direct his own curiosity elsewhere. “You’re an inquisitive one, aren’t you?” Their proximity narrowed barely an inch or so, but Victor seemingly found the other amusing. “All I wanted was a beer, not to begin an investigation. Although, if you’re really that curious to discover why this ghost town still has a full stock of supplies, then be my guest. We ain’t starving for a while, which I’m pretty damn glad about, but I ain’t that interested to know the purpose right now.” Disinterest veiled him and doused the very words he expelled - despite the distaste he awaited. “It takes a hell of a long time to build a house, let alone a whole town for us, Princess.”
“ Yeah, I have yet to decide if that’s a fault or a positive trait. ” She shrugged and dug through her plastic bag of goodies. “ I don’t have beer- but I have some coca-cola? ” She pulled out the glass bottle (coke in a glass was best, everyone knew that, even those who didn’t know their real names) and held it out to him. “ Well then how do you explain this? Nothing looks as though it’s been touched. If you have answers, I want to hear them. I don’t think I’ll be able to relax until I know why we’re here. “
