My Top 5 of the most out-of-pocket things I´ve seen people say during ONK Season 3 (in no particular order)

"Akane stole Aqua from Kana" (heyyyy so, Kana never had any claim to Aqua, and his character had something called ✨ autonomy ✨).

"Young Hikaru was never a victim; he planned the whole Airi thing from the beginning" (It actually took me about three business days to recover from that because what the actual fuck).

"Doctor Gorou and Sarina were the true ship of Oshi no Ko" (Honestly, I don't even have the words for that).

"The twincest made things better" (Yeah about that, incest never makes things better. Most cases, it appeals to the audience's morbid curiosity. And well, in this case, it clearly worked).

"Crow Girl is Ruby's daughter from the future who traveled back in time to prevent Aqua from becoming a serial killer after he killed Hikaru" (LOL this one is definitely out-of-pocket but like ... in the best way. I really liked the person´s imagination who came up with that crazy conclusion).

The way the TikTok side of the Oshi no Ko fandom tried to convince me that I'd love Kana above everything, hate Akane, think that nobody cared about the mystery/revenge plot, and that young Hikaru wasn't actually a victim of abuse is crazy.

I didn't end up loving Kana (nor do I hate her); Akane became my second favorite character after Ai. I know that the mystery surrounding Ai's death and the revenge plot clearly drove the story, and that Hikaru was definitely a victim when he was young. Moral of the story: don't be swayed by a TikTok video, go and read the story for yourself.

Edit: About the Hikaru thing, I want to clarify that the posts I saw were published while the manga was still being serialized (I double-checked them just in case), so I get that these aren’t opinions fans currently hold or believe in anymore. Even so, the fact that several people theorized that Hikaru might be a reincarnation like Ruby and Aqua (and that he was actually the one who took advantage of Airi and got her pregnant on purpose), therefore, he wasn't a victim, still left me shocked. WTF.

New Oshi no Ko fan here. Hi.

I finished Season 3 two weeks ago and immediately went to read the manga. I finished it last night. I have a lot of thoughts.

But above all, I got real beef with the people who practically lied to me and sold me the story as a romance between Aqua and Kana. Didn’t even like that ship, btw. I’ll probably explain why soon.

But anyway… please don’t do that—selling a story as something it isn’t is no fun when you’re the one who is being lied to.
