Cops murdered a black girl in Toronto this week too but Canadians are too up their own asses about how weâre âNot the racist ones! Thatâs only America! Weâre the nice ones :)â to acknowledge it or do anything about it
Cops in Canada are just as racist and evil please Canada wake the fuck up
Her name was Regis Korchinski-Paquet, she was a 29 year old Afro-Indigenous woman. She was pushed off of her own balcony by the Toronto police and fell to her death. They are reporting it as a suicide.
Say her name. Do not let them cover this up.
If you are able, you can donate to her familyâs legal and memorial fund here.
And here is a google doc with contact information for the local representatives with a template email/phone script.
here's a self portrait doodle a did forever ago that i still like
I don't like negative reinforcement and I damn sure am better at crosswords and brain teasers than anybody for someone that doesn't do crosswords , you sure looking like an algebra equation. I am actually simple. I don't take kindly to threats that's all. So, chill.
what?
hereâs the link to donate to george floydâs official memorial fund if you are able to contribute. if you canât donate, please share. being black shouldnât be a death sentence.
my first protection charm!
im kinda proud tbh
My tummy doesnât have to be cute. It holds my internal organs. My thighs donât have to âcrush menâs skullsâ. I use them to carry myself. My stretch marks donât have to be tiger stripes I earned. They came when I grew.
Stop.
feeling this
This!
I feel like even body positivity is too focused on, like, the appearance of the body. I know I became a whole lot happier with my body when I started thinking of it less in terms of how it looked (to me or anyone else) and realized, that, likeâŠ
When I feel cool breeze on my skin on a really hot day, my body did that for me.
When I step into a bath after a hike, and my muscles ache, but in a good way, and the steam all around me makes me feel like a flower blooming, my body did that for me.
And the hike before it, and standing on a large rock breathing the raw winter air seeing the power of the half-frozen river. That too.
When Iâve had a plate of pasta puttanesca, and I chopped and sauteed the ingredients and now Iâm full-but-not-uncomfortable, and warm all over, and perfectly content, my body did that for me.
My body doesnât have to look awesome to be awesome. Itâs awesome because itâs where I live.
Best comment.
â[My body is] awesome because itâs where I live.â
Words. To. Live. By.
Finally, some real body positivity
Romanticizing it only gets you so far. You dont need to romanticize it, you just need to accept it.
The best tactic I have found is body neutrality. Thin is not anything, itâs just having less subcutaneous fat, thicc is not anything either is having muscle and more subcutaneous fat. I donât need to âbulk upâ and I donât need to worry about not bulking up so I can stay thin, I need arms strong enough to put heavy bowls on a shelf.
I donât need to be told that my body is beautiful and I donât need to believe that either, there are much more important things to think about.
I like that.
I need a body that can pick up and carry and snuggle my dog.
Witch who's trying to cut me off on the I-290: *rolls down window and casts a curse*
Me (ate vitamin gummies this morning): lmao nice try Baba Yaga
Goblin diy idea
If you can crochet or want to learn this is a very easy project, it only uses a magic circle, single crochet, and slip stitch.
I made this one last night
Tiny backpack
It has straps that you can definitely slip on a belt
It's good for holding things like rocks or whatever you want/find
This is the tutorial I followed I hope you enjoy :)
