💸As problematic as the Old Money aesthetic is, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride when I see all these gorgeous black women (and men) taking up the mantle and making the style look the best I’ve ever seen. Paving a way for themselves in a style that screamed ‘whites only’, it absolutely thrills me to no end.

💸I want everyone to feel that they can dress whichever way they want. I mean, that’s the real foundation of this black luxury movement, isn’t it? Making a space for us that didn’t seem possible before, and making it attainable as well as positive (we’ll get into the toxic femininity people another time).

💸I’m excited to start this series of Old Money: Black Edition while throwing in some profiles of women of all backgrounds (but mostly black) that take this aesthetic and lifestyle to the bank.

💸Houndstooth, plain, jacquard, polos, linen, cashmere, silk, wool: fabrics and prints and styles that are honestly my faves and go to’s. Mix those in with good tailoring and you’ve got timeless pieces and endless wardrobe options.

This isn’t perfect, and many of these only have one article, but here is our list of countries we have written about. We are hoping to one day have at least one article for every country in the world but as @every-book-has-a-secret there is a lot of work still to do.
