Entry #02

June 8th, 2018.

I am Isak Aspen, if someone should find my research useful I ask them to not turn away from these monsters that have invaded our world, but rather pursue them. Knowledge is the key to power and prosperity. If we have any hope of subduing these beasts, we must absorb all we can about them, only then can we use them to obtain our own goals and dreams. I believe there is much more to these ‘monsters’ than all of you believe. From today forward, I will devote my entire life to studying these creatures and write my findings down in this notebook.

Today, on June9th,  I have learned these beasts are capable of learning. Not in the same manner as cats and dogs, but rather they can be taught new skills and abilities either through experience (which appears to be generated whenever these beasts come into hostile contact with one another), or with technology. However, all creatures seem to only be able to contain the information for four skills within their bodies at a time. If they attempt to learn another while already harboring four, they seem to forget a skill of their choice (though certain beasts were willing to take my advice when it came to choosing the skill to lose and learn). 

Most importantly, we can create skills for these beasts to learn. I’ve begun studying what they’re naturally able to do and producing skills based on these. Unfortunately, my attempts are not always successful, as it seems certain skills cannot be created by man and that all beasts are not capable of learning all skills. At this time; however, I have managed to create working CDs that can teach these beasts the following: 

Work Up (01). Allows a beast to boost their power (attack and special attack). 

Dragon Claw (02). A powerful attack that allows its user’s claws to strike its enemies. 

Psyshock (03). Using a strange wave of psychic energy, a beast can inflict physical harm to its enemy. 

Calm Mind (04). This allows the user to focus in a tight spot (boosts special attack and defense). 

Roar (05). The user lets out a loud noise to frighten its enemies (allows escape from Wild beast or forces a user to switch to another). 

I urge all of you to use my research for your own gain. Only then can we truly begin to understand these creatures.

Entry #01

May 25th, 2018.

Knowledge is the key to power and prosperity. If we have any hope of subduing these beasts, we must absorb all we can about them, only then can we use them to obtain our own goals and dreams. I believe there is much more to these ‘monsters’ than all of you believe. From today forward, I will devote my entire life to studying these creatures and write my findings down in this notebook. 

Today, on May 25th,  I have learned these beasts are capable of changing, becoming larger and stronger. I have dubbed this process ‘evolution’ as it appears these monsters are capable of evolving at a shockingly fast pace in order to ensure their continued survival. I urge all of you to take caution, even the smallest of creatures appear capable of changing at a moment’s notice, becoming far more powerful and fearsome. However, it seems this change is mostly physical. Upon ‘evolving’ they seem to retain their memories of their lesser forms, as well as the bonds they forged. This means that those tamed when small are capable of being controlled as they grow. Oh, how exciting...however, this also means it might be possible to turn these beasts into weapons of mass destruction - on our side. 

While I have had the fortune of witnessing serval evolutions, I have yet to conclude all of the triggers that result in this sudden change. I have been able to single out a few methods:

One. Time and experience. It seems the older beasts are more likely to evolve, as are those who engage in combat regularly. This appears to be the most common way to insight a reaction; however it is not the only one. 

Two. Human interaction. As strange as it sounds, I’ve noticed some of these creatures evolve as a result of their contact with human beings. I’m unsure as to why or how, but those who share a close bond with their beasts may end earning a reward for their compassion.

Three. I suspect there are many methods I do not yet know of. I encourage anyone who manages to befriend one of these creatures to spent time studying them. You may discover there is an unknown method when it comes to triggering an evolution.

Lastly. There appear to be special stones that can trigger an evolution when matched with the right creature. There are many different ones, and they will only work on certain animals, not all. Some have started to appear on the black market, but I’ve managed to find one - a beautiful blue in color, during my travels. As a result, I believe these objects can be found all over the world. They stand out from normal stones. You’ll know the moment you spot one if you’ve found a stone able to insight a reaction. 

These creatures may be far more dangerous than we originally thought. However, these beasts are intelligent, and capable of forming bonds. It is my belief that we can one day learn to live with them as equals. 

Evolution Stones have been discovered, and begin appearing on the black market. However, it appears these stones can also be found hidden in various places in all of the known regions.
