I've been addicted to rock climbing. Which, naturally, means one of my characters has to be into it, and that led me to believe that Sword would be into it, but particularly they'd get into free-soloing. Why wouldn't you do the most deadly type of rock climbing if you're basically immortal anyways?

Haven't gotten to draw much for myself in a while so I had to bust out something fun as a treat.
Other art related updates on my end, I officially finished art school a couple weeks ago so I am a bit more available, but I have been spending most of my non-work hours working on a mural and helping with some renovation stuff at the cat shelter I volunteer with. I'm making progress on the couple commissions I have finally too.
In the future I am hoping to post more art! I hope to maybe share some 3D stuff too since that was my specialty, but I need to work on figuring out a good balance and degree of separation between my professional stuff and my fun stuff mostly for my safety tbh. We shall see where that goes.

Okay been busy with random stuff today but it's a bit of rambling time because I can.
I'll talk about my wacky ass au (the one where the vaati I posted old art of is from) under the cut. Warning, there will probably be no organisation because that's lame.
One, it's crazy to think I've had this au rotating in my brain for like 6 years now. That's older than my cat Pancake! But with something being around that long, it's gotten very full of random stuff. Like this AU is self indulgent first and foremost. It's also got basically any idea for an au I've had thrown in there at some point. It's got ocs in it because why not. It's a hot mess too which is Fun!
It's also gone by many names but I honestly forgot what the most recent one was/what I wanted to stick with. It was probably good too. I have one Braincell. I usually just kind of call it sword spirit vaati au, because that's where it started, and Sword Vaati (as I've nicknamed them) is the central character to it.
Speaking of the Vaati from this au, I'll mention this now, that Vaati is genderfluid and uses literally any pronouns, I tend to switch it up based on context and vibes. For the sake of simplicity though, I do frequently use they/them pronouns when talking about them generally. Use whatever you want though.
To make it simple though the main thing about the au is that rather than being sealed and later breaking free of the four sword, vaati is sealed and merges with it, becoming it's sword spirit.
Then they get to experience the wacky world of being a sword spirit, and also being functionally immortal. Time fuckery is a great thing, right? On a time note, the timeline goes down the fallen timeline, just for fun.
In saying that, that means there's theoretically a lorule version of sword spirit vaati, but now isn't the time to start imagining that character. I literally hadn't thought of that until just now somehow.
Because of that, they get to meet their distant grandson, Octavo, who's also nicknames Beeftavo because basically I made octavo buff as hell. I also made him a cowboy. When I made that decision, I was watching a lot of westerns with my dad, so it was only the natural thing to do, right? Cowboys in my Zelda? More likely than you'd think.
Anyways so Vaati gets to go on adventures with Octavo, and also cause problems alongside him. Always a fun time.
Unfortunately Octavo is a lame ass mortal and dies of old age which is kinda sad for Vaati but they'll be fine. They get to live on and eventually have another child they actually know.
Granted that child also ends up causing problems on purpose because for some reason, I decided that Astor is related to Vaati in my au. Directly. I genuinely don't remember why I decided that, not long after Age of Calamity came out, but I did. Frankly, I was iconic for that.
After causing problems, Astor transitions and goes by Aurora. I also don't remember why I decided on that. Vibes? Vibes probably.
Eugh and I have problems. Because a while after TotK came out, I decided I needed to think about how the decaying of all the weapons affects a sword spirit, so that was another addition to this fucking stupidly bloated au lol.
I could keep going and I probably will at some point. I wanted to write a fic but I don't write much and I'm lazy.
But genuinely, if any of y'all reading this ever want to know more about it, feel free to ask. Anything. Literally anything at all I will gladly talk about it because despite my lack of creation for much of anything about it, this au has been living in my head rent free and stealing all my brain bytes for 6 years so yeah. Ask away.
