Alex’s back pressed hard against the wall as he only stared on in shocked silence. This all sounded like some sort of delusion, but he couldn’t imagine what could have triggered it. The machine seemed to be in perfect working order only a few moments ago.
“Do..you really feel that way?” He blurted out without really thinking. Though he wasn’t sure what else he could’ve said without breaking the fantasy and freaking Ash out. “It..hurts you to see me hurt?”
“Well… Yeah,” Ash said with a nod. In this ideal, overdramatic scenario, there was no reason for him to be ashamed, though there was still a faint blush on his cheeks, “And when I think about you ignoring your injuries to go see some secret girlfriend or something… It’s unbearable.”
Ash gestured to the heart shaped bed in the middle of the room, “The doctor said to rest,” the android says in a pushy kind of tone, “Please, mast- I mean, sir.”
The warden’s eyes narrowed, this delusion was getting crazier and crazier by the minute. “I can assure you, if I’m sneaking away it’s not to see some girlfriend. I’m not sure why you’d think that.” Where was this even coming from?
Though his expression slowly eased up as his gaze trailed over to the bed, it was heartbreaking to see Ash like this. Finally a frustrated sigh escaped him. “Alright, but you need to find a phone for me first. I need to make an important call.”
