Readers, the thing Moirah’s not saying is that she is the reason Shanna has Beguilement. She had Andras implant it into Shanna’s genetic code all those years ago because she wanted to create someone Marchosias couldn’t resist going after. She used her own fucking niece as bait. And now he has his wifi repeater back and who knows what he’ll do. 

So if everything goes to shit and Marchosias gets his way, blame Moirah for giving him the final piece of the puzzle.

Shanna update

So I guess you all wanna know what’s wrong with her, and if she’s gotten better. The answer is... That bastard left a failsafe in, that would take effect if she was away from him for too long. And she’s been fighting it. She’s been fighting it so hard, for so long, and finally tired herself out enough that she had no choice but to let it take her.

Sometime this morning, she had enough lucidity to put a stop to it, at least for a minute. She did this by, um... well, she punched a mirror to distract herself from the way he was flooding her system.  

Yes, she injured herself in the process-- that was the only way she could regain enough awareness of her situation to think clearly. No, it’s not serious. I took care of her as soon as I saw what she’d done. While she was conscious, she told me that she’ll need to stay in the shield box for 24 hours, to completely sever his connection to her. So that’s where she is, and where she’ll be until tomorrow. She still has her phone, so you can expect updates from her too. But I just wanted to let you know, briefly, where she is and how she’s doing.

Hey, so, I figure you guys deserve an update.

Shanna's with me. She's safe, she's not trying to hurt herself or anyone else. She, um, wanted to sleep in my bed tonight– just wanted to be close to someone after coming down from the adrenaline rush, I guess. She's fast asleep next to me while I update this. Kind of... fell asleep on my arm, lol. So I'm typing one handed.

I know where your minds are going, and the answer is no. It's not even a thought in my brain right now. She comes to me vulnerable and afraid and you think I'd try to have sex with her? I'd be no better than Marchosias– and neither are you if you think that's acceptable.

It is nice having her here. I definitely didn't plan on our first real in-person meeting being like this, though. Seems like everything with us ends up as some form of crisis– it'd be nice to just be a regular couple.
