Nerves { Alparka }

Alba ran her hand through her hair once she had removed her sweatshirt fully, folding it in half and laying it aside. A tank top and leggings had been her outfit of choice for their movie night, and it was nice to know that what she wore around Parker didn’t really matter. She didn’t always dress up the way she had used to in New Mexico, back then she had been on a hiatus from dancing and had never been in full practice mode. Now, it was daily routine. Weight, strength, and conditioning work most morning, and four to five hours of drilling routines after classes. Not that the occasional skirt or dress didn’t make an appearance anymore, but comfort and flexibility always won out.
She toed off her sneakers and left them at the edge of Parker’s bed, leaving her slouched socks on because she knew what her feet looked like after hours of practice, and it wasn’t cute at all. She carded her fingers though her hair again, noticing absently that it was still damp before she climbed onto the bed and shifted in Parker’s direction. Without thinking, she kissed him on the cheek before settling into the invited space between his legs, her back facing his chest as she faced the TV. “Ready.”
She bent her body forward, long arms reaching forwards for the Twizzler bag and fingertips catching the corner of the wrapper. She tore the plastic open, pulling a couple of licorice ropes from the bag, before settling it on the mattress beside them. Alba then settled back against his chest, one hand resting on his leg as she tilted her head back against his chest, looking up at him from below.
“How was work?”
“How was--” he’d started just as she spoke, cutting himself off and laughing lightly about the synchronicity of their words. Tenderly, his fingers rubbed her arm, and he pressed his lips to the back of her damp head, giving her time to fully ask her question (and any others) before he answered. Sometimes it was as if he and Alba had spent no time apart, like there was no space between them, like they had simply picked up where New Mexico left off. It was why her kiss on his cheek happened so casually, why it felt so natural to pull her in close. Even the way they dressed for one another was evidence of their comfort with one other -- relaxed and effortless, as if they had been married for years.
“It was fine, quiet.” He let his hand drop to her waist, lazily dragging back and forth against her stomach. Distracted by the movie it took him a few minutes to add a second sentence, his hand still playing with the fabric of her tank top. “The demand for sex toys is surprisingly low during Senior Week. Either no one’s having sex, or Miles’ penis is as incredible as he pretends, and he finally started selling molds of it.” He laughed then reached for her hand, tangling their fingers together for a moment before taking a piece of licorice from her and pulling away. With a tug of his teeth, he broke a piece off, chewing it as he changed the topic.
“How was rehearsal?” he asked, the sugary snack still sliding around his mouth. On the screen behind them, Parker couldn’t ignore the building romantic tension between Emma Roberts and her male counterpart. And though he was interested in Alba’s reply, his eyes were fixed on the television. The chemistry between the two actors was undeniably electric, the same way it felt when Parker had bumped into Alba in Silver City for the first time. And If the movie continued on the same trajectory, Parker was sure they would find themselves deeply immersed in an aggressive but passionate sex scene.
