Excited to share something that’s been in the works for a big chunk of our fall season. We designed a full-scale set for @hellotefi for her new show on Dreams TV, streaming live every day at 12:30pm on YouTube! Tefi is a hilarious Miami native (and a Cancer 🦀!!) who covers all the bases we love to hate and hate to love—pop culture, astrology, fashion and news. Heater IV Album Artwork We were approached to create album artwork for Hunter Ferguson (aka Heater IV) for a set of four singles he would be releasing in summer of 2019. Hunter’s music mixes rap and funk with high energy delivery, centered around messages of positivity, renewal and gratitude. Drawing from his exuberant personality and infectious optimism, we developed four images to convey the message of the songs while reflecting an overarching concept to ‘stop and smell the flowers’. Each image was designed to enhance Hunter’s stylish mix of masculine and feminine—incorporating light springtime colors, jewelry and some of Hunter’s own accessories. Faux natural elements were used to play up his DIY/thrift aesthetic, bring some humor and unite all 4 covers to the initial concept. Additionally, important cultural elements were included such as Hunter’s Rice High School basketball jersey, representing his Harlem community.

The Verge Series of editorial illustrations for The Verge about Big Alcohol pouring money into the drinkable marijuana market. To highlight the road to inebriation, we created a colorful beer-a-mid that slowly melts and fuses over the course of the article—using cans covered in dripping plaster, colored light, drawn decals and digital manipulation to bring this weed journey to peak anxiety levels! Foreign Policy

Cover and interior illustration for Foreign Policy magazine’s summer print edition discussing Earth’s unlikely saviors confronting climate change—Who Will Save The Planet?

To create this scorched Earth set, we used slabs of fibrous padding topped with a loose mud mask that dried and cracked into the perfect arid texture. To top it off, we sprinkled a combination of paint and spices—curry powder, ginger, cinnamon, paprika and ‘chicken seasoning’ to be exact—to get a rich brown color throughout. The result was a VERY aromatic set piece we adorned with model trees and recycled plastic for the watering holes. For such a dire situation and serious topic, grateful for the opportunity and joy in creating.

Peek at an image made for this summer’s print edition of @foreignpolicymag – the climate issue. 🌎 🏜 This issue discusses the earth’s potential & unlikely saviors confronting climate change. 🤞 💛 #bts info–this little dry earth is covered in spices (curry powder, ginger, and cinnamon to be exact ☝️) to give that crispy look.
