There is no Soy Luna season 4 in Ba Sing Se

My original Soy Luna 4 hopes and predictions:

Oh I hope they’ll explore Luna looking for her relatives on her father’s (Bernie’s) side! We could get the detective trio back! Maybe Matteo would join them too~ Some of the new cast are probably going to be Luna’s cousins. I hope the show will have the same vibe as the last 5 episodes of season 3! *insert lots of happy predictions for the ships and the Roller team* Hopefully there will be lots and lots of skating!

My current hopes for Soy Luna 4:

I have a far-fetched (or maybe not?) Lutteo theory for S4.

I’ve been wondering why both Luna and Matteo have stars by their names on their official name logos for this season (while Simón has his usual lightning bolt) when it would make more sense for Luna to have a crescent moon as usual, but then I had an idea. What if it’s in reference to Como Una Estrella? It’s the song with Lutteo duetting while singing the lyrics about saying I love you on Valentine’s Day, and we know Matteo will sing to Luna/Lutteo will sing together during the Valentine’s Day Open. And the consensus is that Como Una Estrella will be the finale song, so therefore, Lutteo endgame! (Also why would they sing that line together in the finale song if they’re not endgame…?)

(Both also have ”sol” in their solo songs (Mariposas and Pasión), which might not seem too significant, but lyrics including sol or luna have historically almost always had something to say about the plot in different ways, and I think these are the only songs on the album to have either in the lyrics (other than Mal, which also seems plot related).)

Since the beginning of this month I’ve had this theory about SL4 that really started out as just a joke, but… I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it because the more I do, the more I feel like it would make a lot of sense. (The top two theories that make the most sense to me right now is that the timeline split soon after season 2 and that this is a continuation of season 2 rather than season 3 (so basically it’s an AU), as well as my own theory down below.)

What if… the whole season ends up being one of Luna’s dreams? The whole ”everything was just a dream” plot device is actually especially plausible for Soy Luna because of the nature of all of Luna’s dreams in s1-s3. Maybe she’ll wake up on the day of the competition that caused her injury and decide to not compete because of her dream? Or maybe she’ll wake up just shortly after s3e60?

It being a long dream would explain ooc character choices like Luna leaving everyone and everything behind and not even keeping in touch with Simón. It would explain why characters like Jazmín and Ámbar are missing Delfi’s big day. Depending on when she has this dream, it would explain why she is competing solo just a year after she declined a huge solo offer to be able to continue skating with her team (also how did she become a legend in the skating world in just a year? Yes she won the Crystal Skate before that at just 16/17 years old, but still.), why the Roller team didn’t stay united as a team even though they seemed determined to keep skating together, and why Simón acted as Luna’s professional skating partner even though he’d probably want to pursue music instead. It would explain the whole ”threatening origami messages” thing, which doesn’t feel like it belongs in SL. It could possibly also explain why she was suddenly using her old rollerskates again. It could explain the big Simbar and Lutteo breakups, if this dream kind of explores an au/possible future. Having the season be a dream would allow them to keep the status quo intact (which they know would make fans the happiest), and it would explain why this is kind of being talked about like a spin-off of sorts rather than a proper continuation to S3 (it supposedly both is and isn’t a season 4, we ”don’t need to watch the previous seasons to watch this”, the actors seeming a bit nervous about what people will think of the ending but at the same time saying that fans will be pleased and happy with the ending would make sense in this scenario too, and the way they keep insisting that the leaks are not the finale and so on). Apparently Mariposas is a sequel to La Vida Es Un Sueño, which is also specifically interesting. And finally, maybe Luna waking up from a dream at the end of the De Ti Me Enamoré MV (and winking to us) is a hint?

The press conference for Volver A Rodar just warmed my heart so much. They were talking so passionately about their craft, about their relationship with the show and their characters, telling behind the scenes stories and joking around, and (kind of most importantly to me) having the absolute sweetest impromptu praise session.

Michael was asked what traits and characteristics Simón had inherited from Michael himself, Mike struggled to answer and so Karol answered for him, and it eventually turned into Karol praising Mike for his personality, for his acting and dedication to his and his colleagues work, and being a lovely person. Ruggero adds that they learn a lot from him. Mike starts crying. Both Ruggero and Karol hug him. Ruggero starts choking up as well and starts talking about how people have no idea about just how important this return is for them. Karol starts tearing up. Ruggero says it’s so wonderful to be together again and that their bond is greater and goes deeper than people realize, that they’ve experienced so much together and that they’ll be friends for the rest of their lives. Everyone is tearing up or crying. Karol says that they’re siblings, a family, that this means so much and that it was healing for everyone including the others not present, that it’s an honor to work together with all of them. Karol started praising Ruggero too, saying he’s so talented, a wonderful actor and the sweetest human being. Once again all three start tearing up/crying. Mike starts praising Karol too saying she’s really the best, but struggles to continue because of how he’d been crying. It all seemed so incredibly sincere and it’s both so heartwarming and so refreshing to see them like this after so long.

Regardless of how Lunatic@s end up feeling about the season (you can tell the people involved really put a lot of heart in it and wanted to preserve the series’ essence, and people who’ve watched the first two episodes had only positive things to say, so I’m feeling hopeful!), I think the best, most precious and impactful thing about Soy Luna’s return is how it brought the actors back together, and how it helped them make new, better memories with the show and gave them the chance to heal the relationships between them. I’m happy for them!

I can’t let go of the Mexico event 😆

We really got Más Linda, Pasión, Eres, De Ti Me Enamoré and Alas all in one night! I think Karol changed outfits like 6 times throughout the event lol, it was impressive! While the guys ”only” had 2 different outfits each

I was right in suspecting Giovanna and Pasquale would attend the premiere, especially since it was in Mexico. But now I’m wondering if that means both Emilia AND Benicio are going to make an appearance in the season, or if they just attended the show because of their history with it and to show their support. Both options feel equally likely.

Karol joked about doing a 5th season. Wow, everything is really so different now ☺️ Though it made me recall, didn’t Mike say something similar (though with slightly more seriousness) last year?

Karol IG story after the event was so touching 🥺 She is so grateful for getting to do this again 🥺 It’s such a relief to see how much it means to her, how happy she is to have returned to this project. I’m sure she must’ve had her doubts before accepting it, especially considering everything she went through, but it turned out so well <3

I think I’m much more excited to experience the next 4 months of press tour, promotions and the live tour than the season itself 😆 Mike said the rehearsals for the tour start in September, so July-August is promo time, and September-November will be tour time!

In the end I’m just a silly, silly fangirl and AAAHHHHH today is a GOOD GOOD day!! The events surrounding the Mexico premiere exceeded all expectations 🥹 I’ve been glued to social media for hours… My heart 🥹

There’s so much talk about and such a big focus on the love triangle and romantic ships, but something I really really hope for from season 4 is a big focus on the different friendships and the positive impact they have on each other’s lives! I’m sure we’ll thankfully get lots of sweet moments between Luna, Nina and Delfi, but give me more please! Give me Gastteo and their banter, give me Simón and Nina, give me Luna and Pedro, give me Pedrimón, Pedro and Matteo, and Sitteo (please don’t ruin Sitteo’s friendship for the sake of the love triangle please)! Give me pairings that rarely interacted in the OG show! Give me Matteo and Delfi, Matteo and Nina, Simón and Delfi, Pedro and Nina, Gastón and Luna, and Gastón and Delfi as friends too! All of it! Give me hints of friendship between the present characters and the absent characters too! I want to see the cute friendships and bonds between all these characters, see them interact more and talk about things unrelated to shipping drama 🥹 And with that, I also need tons of moments of Lumón and Lutteo as friends, pleeeaase 🥺

It feels so surreal to see the cast together, to see and hear them live in the same frame, promoting SL again and joking around with each other, in 2026. So surreal. But I’m so glad. And both Karol and Rugge said that filming this season was a healing experience, and you can tell that the 3 of them are on good terms with each other 🥹

Miscellaneous thoughts about Soy Luna 4 now that the week of the premiere is here: 

I wonder if the special/secret guests that have previously been hinted at could be Giovanna and Estela. Maybe Lucila and Roberto would also count as special guests? I still feel like there’s a small chance Valentina might have done a small cameo too, considering the photo of her, Mike and Male together around the time they were filming the season…

I wonder if any of the missing actors let the production use new photos of them to use when sharing what their characters are up to now in the show?

Karol revealed that the Lutteo ring and the strawberry + crescent moon necklace went missing and so they had to replace them for this season, and that makes me 👀 I hope they used them for more than just flashbacks.

It’s really interesting how, compared to the filming of S2 and S3, we have almost no footage filmed by people who visited the filming locations for S4. They seem to have been much stricter about prohibiting recording. For S2 and S3 we got so many iconic spoilers, like when they filmed Siempre Juntos, the 2x41 Lutteo kiss on the red bridge, the Cancún memories/dream from the start of S3, Luna singing Nada Me Podrá Parar (which we were convinced was called Power of Music) and such. I miss that.

Now that they’re the only OG girls left, and they’re a trio, I’d love to see Delfi, Luna and Nina singing Chicas Así together at the party lol

Since it’s been confirmed that some songs in the season was not included on the Volver A Rodar album, then aside from new songs there could also be ”live versions” of old songs, especially duets 👀

With that said, I get the feeling that the song Matteo is singing to Luna during the Valentine’s Day Open is Quiero Verte Sonreir (even though it’s already been used for 2 Opens previously), and maybe Luna joins in just like in S3? But with a happy ending this time? Could also be like, Vives En Mí or Princesa? That’s the vibe I’m getting

Karol and Ruggero have been very openly and visibly supporting Lutteo in the past few weeks, and it makes me so curious if that’s their genuine thoughts, a way of consoling Lutteo fans because of what will happen in S4, or PR to make fans more confused (since everyone became so certain they’ll make Lumón endgame)?

I’m so excited to see a lot more of wholesome Pelfi, so please don’t disappoint! And I really, really hope that one of the songs that wasn’t included in the Volver A Rodar album is a new Pelfi song 🥺🥺 I need it 🥺

I’ve come to the conclusion that the party scene from the Karol x Malena video (where we can now tell that Delfi is wearing a headband that says ”BRIDE”) is from Delfi’s bachelorette party rather than wedding reception, since the ”Simón, hola” makes it seem like it happened early in the season?

I hope they keep the animated transitions between scenes! They’re so charming, I’ve always loved them 🥹
