This one’s no good either…
A small frown settles on the Raichu’s muzzle as he stares hard at the bare bush for a moment before he tilts his head backwards a bit and his eyes are raised towards the sky, brown orbs flickering up at the also bare trees. It was odd, during this season the fruit on these trees and bushes should be bountiful, with more than enough fruit for the forest to share, but for some reason they were empty.
There was sort of an unspoken rule around here, everyone knew it and everyone abided by it. You never took more than what you needed. Nobody ever had to really, there was more than enough food to go around. No need to be greedy, but here he was standing in front of an empty bush that normally was full of fruit.
He didn’t want to believe the local gossip. That lots of food has been going missing because the humans have been coming around more frequently to take their stuff.
His ears perk, then swivel in the direction where the sound originated from. Head following seconds later he feels the familiar fuzzy tingle in his cheeks, signaling than an electric type was in the area. His eyes catch a brief glimpse yellow, a Pikachu? Not that he was surprised, forests were generally where they tended to thrive.
The scent was unfamiliar though, they didn’t smell like they belonged to anyone in Elysia’s group, nor did they reek of a human. So a fellow wild Chu then, that’s fine. Thor turns his attention back to the foliage in front of him. Releasing a soft sigh he shakes his head a bit before speaking up to the newcomer with a flat dejected tone.
“If you’re looking for some fruit or berries, you’re gonna hafta try somewhere else. This one’s empty.”

Tomomi had taken to stockpiling a bit in recent times. Oh, not nearly enough that her gathering would be noticed, normally - the extra food she gathered every day would barely count as a snack for a slightly larger pokemon. However, things clearly weren't going according to the norm in the forest.
It was better, Tomomi reasoned, that the wild Pokémon started saving up food (at least the ones that wouldn't rot quickly) before the humans got to what was left. The usual habit of eating food where they found it was going to prove detrimental soon enough. Despite her lack of information on the subject, Tomomi couldn’t help but feel a little miffed at the nearby humans’ actions. Surely they had to know that taking so much food would leave the wild pokemon scrambling?
‘Either these don’t think before acting, or the people of Almia really were more considerate.’
Still, Tomomi didn’t feel particularly guilty for storing away some berries in her den. More than the fact that she took small amounts, she justified her actions in recalling how she made sure to share some of her stock if she ever came across a hungry pokemon. She’d had even set down a bunch by those bushes she knew a group of pikachu around here frequented; be a good neighbor and all that, even if the phrase wasn't really used around here.
Walking amongst the foliage, Tomomi shot a disappointed glance at the bare branches surrounding her. Perhaps she merely had bad luck today, but she could swear that she was seeing less fruit around than even the new usual. As it was, she held a lone pecha berry in her paws after almost a half hour of wandering.
With a flick of her ears, the mouse continued onwards, until she was distracted by a sudden tingle in her electrical pouches. Tomomi paused, noting the development. Another electric type was around? Curious, the pikachu lifted her tail a little higher in an attempt to pinpoint the source of electricity. Hmm, it was hard to sense where the other Pokémon was, given that they weren't exactly spouting electric type moves, but if her intuition was right...
The female mouse moved slowly east. Given how the fur on her tail began to stand up after she'd traveled a few yards, it seems like she was at almost to where they were.
“If you’re looking for some fruit or berries, you’re gonna hafta try somewhere else. This one’s empty.”
Tomomi stopped in her tracks at the dejected voice - looks like they'd noticed her presence too. Not that it was problem. Given confidence by their non-hostility, Tomomi made her way to their vicinity, after which she blinked a few times in surprise. She’d been expecting the wrong kind of ‘chu, apparently - she’d eat her tail if this stranger wasn’t her line’s last form.
Tomomi nodded in acknowledgement. “Hello there. “ Then, a frown came over her face as she followed his gaze and processed his words. ‘Was he out looking for food?’ The little mouse shot a mildly disappointed glance at her pecha berry with her next thought, but looking at the Raichu...well, she’d be guilty if she didn’t. Sigh.
“It really is a shame about the food starting to disappear. It looked like there were going to be a bunch of oran berries around this year too.” Tomomi spoke conversationally. After a moment, she raised the berry in her paws and awkwardly added, “Found this earlier - I’ve got a few saved at home though, so I’d feel bad if I sent you off on a trek to find more food.
❝ I don’t suppose you’d like to have it?❞
