Pashto Poem #3
In winter like ice
The wind blows with anger
Hungry to become an object of affection
Every night she howls to the moon.
O Flower that you grow on the mountain side;
The duty to water you belongs to me, but to whom would you belong?
(via paywastoon)
Fate /
My hopes are becoming grey
And slowly they disappear
They will never return
My fate can never change
Go with many, eat with many.
Pashto Proverb (via honeyandelixir)
If my flower garden is sustained with my blood,
May every single thorn break in my heart!
- Qalandar Momand
(via paywastoon)
Don’t give me your alms, just save me from your dogs.
Pashto Proverb (via honeyandelixir)
I was looking at the stars when my heart became heavy
And under the stars I felt small
But this night with all of its stars was still black
And the moonlight could not reach me
I was lost under the night sky
Light /
My eyes will not completely lose their color
Because a fire burns in my heart
I can catch the rays of light from the sky
And I will shine like the sun
Time flies never to be recovered.
Afghan proverb (via alawords)
No pleasure without labor
Pashto proverb, Rahmon Inomkhojayev “Pashto: An Elementary Textbook” (via polyglotted)
Beautiful beloved come and see the state of your lover Are these rain pearls or is it fire spurting out of his eyes…
“Like the soul of the sun and moon were never meant to meet, maybe me and your soul were never meant to meet”
The caravan keeps on going and the dogs keep on barking. (via paywastoon)
Had your pen been in my hand, I would have marked you ‘fortunate’.
Pashto proverb (via honeyandelixir)
