Someone Online

I've been writing since high school, helped me get through some really hard times. Now I'm 27 and I've been in the United States Air Force since August 20th 2013. Writing continues to be a huge passion for me and I hope that I will continue to get better. Basic made it hard to be creative, but I've started up again and I'm back with a whole new passion, so if you like what you see let me know. It makes me really happy to serve not only my ego, but to know that my heart touched others. To anyone who aspires, just keep writing, hardly anyone reads what I write, but it means a lot to me. Don't ever give up on your dreams, "find something that is worth fighting for and spend your life making it happen." - Retired Chief Master Sergent Wright I write most of these in between my class breaks, sometimes I write them when I'm outside, I'll write them on my phone, on scrap paper, on my computer....just whenever one comes to mind. If you love to write, always have a pen and pad nearby, you never know what will pass you by. And don't ever be scared to ask me a question, about anything. I'm here for anyone and everyone that I can be. Also, all the Pashto poems were written by me, I'm learning Pashto and I make them to practice :)

My Life

My Life

 Part I

 I thought that I saw us together,

When I saw how you looked in my eyes.

How you promised the world we could weather

If I promised to stay by your side

 I was lost in that moment, that feeling

Unsure of who I would become

Without knowing it, slowly revealing

That my heart was becoming undone

 I thought when I told you I loved you That you’d support all my hopes and my dreams

Was it a lie when you told me you did too,

Or was it some fault with your own self-esteem?

   Part II

 You told me that I was conceited

What would happen you could never have known,

You thought that I’d be defeated

That I could never have made it on my own

 You kept doubt as a tool to enslave me

To keep me desperate to stay by your side

But the moment that I had become free

Was the moment I tossed you aside

 Part III

And I could make a thousand words

Of the pain and hurt through the years

But the message that I want for others be heard

Follow your dreams, never follow your tears.

Prisoner of My Mind

  I am a prisoner of my own design

Locked in the walls of my very mind

A prisoner of fear, a prisoner of doubt

I could not tell you how this came about

 And all I know upon this hell

Is that I know it much too well

The days seem dark, the nights too long

I fear to wake and face the dawn

 For as time passes, I lay still

Trapped behind some force of will

That seeks to tear my soul apart

The deafening cry of my beating heart

 I know that I must grasp my fate

If I am to seize my own escape

The Cruelest joke is that the key

Is staring right in front of me

 This prison has become my home

It is all that I have come to have known

To run from all I’d face outside

The Art That Saved Me

 The art that saved me

Is the art I know

It is the art that truly

Is a part of my soul

 In song we may feel it

When time stops in our hearts

And we’re lost in the moment

That we hope never parts

 That fills air like a thunder

But is as sweet as the rain

And leaves feelings of wonder

And we are never the same

 Perhaps it is a canvas

Of the colors we paint

Representing our chances

To live life free from restraint

 In moments forever

In passions laid bare

Changing whomever

Gives but a moment to stare

 Maybe dance soft as moonlight

Graceful, gentle, and strong

Representing what we might

Feel we need to go on

 The fire that drives us

To turn pain into grace

That burns with a fierce lust

We can never erase

 Or words may be done

As our simple escape

To explain who we’ve become

Or our harsh turns of fate

   For when ink turns to words

There is a story to tell

And we wish to be heard

And hope others live it as well

 So whatever your art

For it will strengthen your heart

The Mirror

The Mirror

  In carefree youth, a mirror lay, set beside the sun

A silver, shining grace

Light leapt from shadows for a second glance –

How proudly you did shine

  The stars would lay upon your face

Like diamonds set upon the night

All secrets lay beside you bare –

Your heart both pure and open

It was the fault of jealous love

Of pain most can’t express

That threw you from your mantle

And cracked your smooth vainer

  It was the fall that cracked you

But the hand that broke you

Was the hand that loved you –

And shattered who you were

  And the light seemed now to leave you

The night now cold and dark

The scars a terrifying reminder–

Lest they shatter and leave nothing left of who you were

  And one day someone will pass you by

Staring through a windowed pane

And when the look they see no faults –

But beauty in this broken art

  And they will see those cracks as treasures

A testament to your resolve

To Make You Happy

To make you happy what would it take?

What could I give to see a smile on your face?

Is it sunflowers spread as far as can see?

Is it candles and romance and fine-dined evenings?

What could I say to show you I care,

More than these words have my heart left bare?

What could I do to bring you elation,

To show you my charm is no fabrication?

Small pebbles and gems I would pluck from the earth

If somehow their value could prove my own worth

Gifts one might fancy, or things one might treasure

I would give if I thought they would bring you such pleasure

Might I prove it with one thing, a thousand, or two

I will prove it with all that I humble for you

To make you happy what would it take?

Sunset By the Seaside

Sunset by the seaside,

The turns of the tide

Those last rays of warmth

As night creeps forth

Those waves upon my heart could play

The memories of all their days

Lifting up from ocean floors

To crash upon such jagged shores

And yes, I too am like those waves

Trying so hard to be brave

I do not know if it is my mistake

To hope, to dream, to love, to hate

So, heh, who am I

If not just another passer by?

Another fool, another schemer

Who dares to face this world a dreamer

Staring upon the sea of my reflections

Unsure of the waves of my own recollections

Clinging to the last rays of light

Afraid of the cold and the dark lonely night

And in the dark there is a hand reached beside me

But it is a love that I know that cannot be

Ten Minutes of Advice

10 minutes of advice

they say patience is a virtue

and yet it is so hard to find

and harder to know what is untrue

and hardest to escape the torments of our minds

If I could tell you

Just one single bit of advice

I would tell you to love what you do

And hope you find someone nice

Because happiness is fleeting

Every day of our lives

We must continue convening

Towards our own inward fires

Give not to passion

Nor succumb to desire

Be careful to ration

Your heart lest against you conspire

For life is not a single bliss

Nor series of such moments

And those you love you’ll inevitably miss

one would think the news foretold

would render mourning left untold

but when the days grow short and weak and old

the pain seeps through as pain and cold

I do not think her smiling face

would soon from my own memory erase

but terror seeps into my heart

that our memories might one day depart

I could not think of a more horrid pain

than for me to to forget her face or name

To live my life and forget her smile

Or the way she placed her heart on mine

And so I write this solemn vow

To her I let my heart allow

To let her know, although I don’t know how

I love you my friend, goodbye for now

I do not think we shall meet again

But such is life that it must end

I hope you know how proud I’ve been

To hold you close and call you friend.

Off On An Adventure

I’m off on an adventure,

Although lost on where to go.

Into the void I must venture

To quell my fears of the unknown.

Held fast atop the abyss

Trembling as I stare below.

Should I step wrong or the right miss

Hesitation, my worst and final foe.

I tell myself this is my paradox

To let fear prevent my fall.

And although it seems unorthodox

I climb, through fears and all.

For I will not the traveler be

Who sat above and waited.

For courage will not come to me

Unless I choose to make it.

The Boy

There was a boy beautiful and brave

Who walked to me daring to ask me my name

Who wanted nothing more than to know who I am

And to sit with me, smile, as he held to my hand

Who maybe would fall for me, though who could know?

I know that he'd care for me wherever we'd go

And I'd like to say that I fell for his smile

But now that moment has been passed for awhile

He has a heart so sweet that it makes me cry

I hope he forgives me that I was too blind to try

That he knows I regret the times could have been

That I shall never mistake to forget his face again

Little Cow Moo

Little Cow Moo & Drew Ducky Too There once on a farm lived a little cow Moo

Who sat there alone with nothing to do

 Until one day when overhead flew

A flapping new friend, a ducky named Drew

 Little cow Moo with tears in her eyes

Waved up to the ducky, if just to say hi

 On seeing this cow waving up to the sky

That little Drew ducky did quickly down fly.

 When little Drew ducky got to the ground

He couldn’t believe the new friend he’d found.

 A new little friend out here in the sun

Wanting to play and to laugh and have fun.

 So laughing they ran and they jumped and they played

Until the hours had passed and the sun crept away.

When day turned to night and the sunlight had passed

These two little friends knew their fun couldn’t last.

 “I’ll come back tomorrow” the ducky began “And the next day and after, whenever I can!”

 And into the night with flapping wings ran

Back to his home in Drew ducky land.

 All alone again was little cow Moo

All alone again and with nothing to do.

 Until back in the skies there overhead he flew

His friend come again, a ducky named Drew.

The Tree

I fell in love beside a tree

And thought he fell in love with me

I left him flowers every day

And to him gave my heart away

I fell in love beside that tree

And thought this boy would marry me

I spent the hours of the day

Wishing more that we could stay

But love it seemed could not be so

He loved a boy I did not know

And never did I think that I

Could break my heart upon a lie

I stared for months upon that tree

And it stared my soul back to me

Until one day I sat there again

And found my heart begin to mend

As the sun leaps, shadows arch

When I was three A man came to me And asked if I could help him today I remember his eyes As he stifled his pride Not once did he ever look away I remember my heart As it first ripped apart And that pain that forever would stay But as I learned to be kind I soon learned in my time That the world had too many cruel ways

But a little hope here Helped me wade through my fear

And to always have courage to say-

I will not forget The look in his eyes The pain of a man Who’s forsaken his pride Someone who cares Too much for his life Too much for his family Too much for his wife And maybe one day he’ll be alright Maybe one day he’ll help those in kind

The Waves

I find myself amongst a sea Of turbid waves of misery The sky is bleak and dull in sight With shadows cast that steal the light In this hell of darkened solitude I find myself too much to bear To this I sway about in destitude This sea is ripping, my heart will tear If just the waves I'd face eternity But without land there is no certainty For I know in time like all will I Hit the waves and surely die
