Solo Exhibition "di NERO e LUCE"

My shadows come from afar; they are a profound bond that has always inhabited my creative research. The body of work presented in this Berlin exhibition, consisting of eleven images from an ongoing project, stems from an intimate revelation. It was born from a fascination with contemporary engravings and etchings, a subsequent interest in the physical medium, and the observation of Giambattista Piranesi's works—with their violent contrasts and deep, dramatic blacks—marking the concrete beginning of this journey.
From that fascination with dense and engraved blacks, a purely poetic realization is born. Through chemical photographic development on matte paper, light and darkness cease to be technical data and become primary matter to be sculpted and layered, like grooves on a plate. Shadow plays the role of a passive void and becomes a living space, memory, and mystery; an inner journey in which photography strips itself of its documentary function to become pure sign and evocation.
