Nagisa pushed himself out of the pool, fetching the towel that was sitting idly in the vacant chair. He wiped his hands from the water before setting the towel around his neck.
"My name’s Nagisa Hazuki, but you can just call me Nagisa.." He gave the girl a grin, wondering if she was just dazed or had a bad day? The blond paused for a moment, a curious smile crossing his lips as he tilted his head, a few drops of water dripping from his bangs to his face and the ground.
Maybe she was a new student? Well, there was no harm in asking, right? “Are you joining the swimming team?"
She felt uncomfortable; as though the male, Nagisa, was presuming that she didn't want to be bothered - that was hardly accurate. In reality, she did want to meet the stranger. What was there to do, then, to make her seem more approachable..? Well, she could always put on one of her sort of unimpressive excuses for a smile - that's what she did. A small grin tugged at the corners of her lips, showing more in her eyes than anywhere else really; the expression was insecure and uncertain, though it was more friendly, she hoped, than how she'd been looking before.
She nodded to his introduction, smile less forced now. "I'm Orihara Kururi." she responded, finding it the proper thing to do in reply. Surely the kids of this school wouldn't judge her because of her last name, right..? Or, she hoped, at least.
Hearing his inquiry, she shook her head in denial. "No, I was just.. Curious." she explained in a lackluster tone, eyes dropping awkwardly to the ground. Maybe she wasn't supposed to be here..?
"I’m shocked that Mairu isn’t at your side," he commented, sliding a few papers into his desk. “And here I was, so sure that she was glued to your side. Did you two get into a fight?"
The frown deepened uncomfortably at the mention of her sister with whom she currently wasn't in the best of terms, maroon eyes matching his own dropping to the ground. She rolled her shoulders in a shrug, not quite sure how to respond to that. She didn't expect him to know it, but she was putting effort into separating herself from her sister as much as she could lately. She was pretty sure Mairu was mad at her because of it.
"Not really." She responded vaguely. She was quite certain that he wouldn't bother questioning her more on the topic, which may or may not be a good thing, she thought.
"Perfect." Not exactly, it would take a few minutes to get there, but there was nothing wrong with Sunshine 60. With one last glance outside he turned and headed for the door, grabbing his signature jacket on the way. “I’ll be a few minutes but you won’t mind waiting, will you?" She really had no options here, but he asked away anyways. He wouldn’t intentionally be making her wait, but the ride from Shinjuku to Ikebukuro would take a good twenty to twenty-five minutes if the station wasn’t too crowded.
Grabbing his keys and placing his wallet into his back pocket, he slid on his shoes. “Ah, and keep yourself somewhere I’ll be able to spot you, yes? The last thing I want to do is arrive and have to go on a hunt to find you."
She could hear him moving around, heard the keys and what not, but was still not convinced in that she'd so quickly managed to so easily persuade her otherwise busy and fairly cold big brother to actually come out and meet her. "Don't mind." she informed him, eyes absently raising to the store banners around her, blinking. For whatever reason, she felt almost nervous to see Izaya; it had been a few months, and with her insecure nature being the way it was already, seeing someone that she did have such respect for, brother or not, caused some sort of dumb discomfort.
"Mhm." she agreed quickly, lips pursed as she languidly stood up from the bench she'd been sitting on and started towards the escalator. She'd find a place to sit out front, maybe. That'd surely be visible enough. "See you." she spoke into the phone as she set foot onto the motile stairs.
Let's swim.

And out from the water a wild Haru pokes his head up to regard the sudden influx of people at the pool with a bit of a stare.
—Wasn’t the pool supposed to be closed for now…?
A timid maroon gaze found itself overlooking azure water uncertainly. The petite teenager wasn't particularly certain how she'd ended up here, fully dressed in front of a pool, but at least it was somewhere new to be; stalking the Ikebukuro streets did get fairly boring after a while. An unfamiliar pair of eyes and mop of dark hair caught her attention, and blinking once, she found herself ducking near the edge of the pool, wrapping her arms around her knees and tilting her head curiously. "..Hello?"

Nagisa swam his way to the end of the pool, his hands slapping against the wall before raising his head to take in a breath. He moved over to lean his arms on the ledge, a smile crossing his face to see a few familiar faces.
"Yo!"
Kururi wasn't quite certain as to how she'd found herself where she was - by the pool of a school she didn't attend. How strange. Her curiosity had provoked her to, while skipping her own classes, explore a different school. Sure, she felt just as nervous here as she did at her own school, but at least the people seemed a little nicer. Spotting a blonde who appeared her age, possibly younger, she blinked, a vacantly curious expression on her features as she held a hand up in greeting.
"Hello." she didn't sound as enthusiastic as she wanted to, but then again enthusiasm wasn't her specialty.
He listened carefully as she spoke. At least she was actually saying something now, even if it was just little details of her life. Anything was better than talking about his own life… “Skip school a lot, huh?" He smirked a bit, “What a rebel." He gave her a small smile, seemingly back to his old sarcastic self. “Raira Academy? I believe I’ve heard of it. Sounds pretty fancy. “So, other than being a delinquent," he winked at her, “what else do you spend you time doing? Or, what else should or could I know about you?" He found even these small details interesting. So really, anything she was willing to say he would be satisfied with.
She grinned meekly. He was behaving similar to the way he had been before his little outburst - which was completely okay with her. She was terrible at comforting people anyway, and she felt quite certain that she'd only successfully made him feel worse about himself - her specialty.
"I'd like it better if it was like that." she commented on his comment about her being a delinquent, still grinning but now once again examining the wood of the table beneath her uncomfortably. She wasn't sure whether she should mention the extremely relevant bit of her life - the bullying. "I don't go to school for.. Acceptable reasons." she said, shrugging.

It wasn’t lost on Mikado that she was trying to stay in his eye contact. Maybe he was wrong in not looking at her. Really, he knew that he shouldn’t be so shy. It was just a usual move on his part. He didn’t talk to people normally. He knew it would have to change eventually, but he didn’t know when it had to change. Or how he was suppose to change. Doctor always told him that practice makes perfect. Well, he didn’t tell him how nerve wrecking it was to converse with others.
The boy took a deep breath, trying to grab the spell of courage that got him here in the first place. He couldn’t run away at the sign of conversation with a pretty girl. How was he suppose to learn that way? More determined eyes finally locked with hers. There was still the blush present on his azure eyes, but he wouldn’t run away from her anymore. It was a big change for him, but he was still changing.
"Ku..ruri, yeah? Ah, then it’s nice to meet you, Kururi-san…" He didn’t think that it was her last name, but since she didn’t give it to him, he couldn’t use it. It was slightly odd that she wouldn’t give him her last name. There had to be a special reason. It was common custom to give a last name at least. Mikado couldn’t pry so he didn’t question it.
Catching his eyes made her reflexively straighten up, tilting her head to the side as she saw him put effort into hiding how flustered he was. Kururi was enjoying her socialization with the boy, she couldn't deny it. His reactions to her more or less normal behavior were very entertaining.
She realized it could be considered suspicious or even rude to not give one's last name when introducing themselves; that wasn't her goal. So, looking away and pursing her lips thoughtfully, she made a pause in her speech before grinning once more and adding: "Orihara Kururi. It's nice to meet you too, Mikado." with a nod. Really, he seemed all too plain to be on bad terms with her Onii-san; something that may have sounded a little stranger but was a rule that applied to him.
There was a tension that she felt whenever giving her last name to anyone - even though she was very proud of her lineage, she still did worry about it having the ability to chase certain, well informed people away from her - something she didn't appreciate.
Is That Who I Think It Is?
Weary maroon eyes landed themselves onto a familiar face, not completely trusting what she was seeing. She'd flipped through enough magazines, seen enough movies and listened to her twin long enough to have become quite a fan of the idol her eyes had befallen, though she wasn't yet convinced that that was him. Well, there was only one way to find out, right?-- Kururi's feet planted themselves into the Ikebukuro sidewalk. The city was fairly empty; it was eleven AM on a Monday, and if the city was dead at any time, it was now. She could spot a few other pairs of eyes landing on the dark haired male also, thus strengthening her assumption. He was only about a meter or so away from her now and she called out - or, it wasn't really a call. More of a hushed speaking voice.
"Yuhei...?"
Somewhere in Shinjuku, right..?
"Hmm,"
Missed him? Well, he would be more surprised if those words escaped Mairu’s mouth. Izaya had always picked up some vibe from Kururi, like she looked up to him. Izaya didn’t care, therefore didn’t bother, but he knew it was like that. However, you didn’t really learn anything by just stay quiet.
Izaya arched forward, fetching a cup. He took a small sip and held it in his hand as he leaned back.
"If you’ve missed me that much, why haven’t you dropped by before."This wasn’t really a suggestion or invitation because that would be chaos and really bad, but he was probably expected to ask this question.
Why did she even bother..? She knew that he was just finding her behavior more and more odd. Hearing his question, suggestion, whatever it had been, caused her to furrow her eyebrows. Surely he hadn't wanted her to come around and bother him, right? That was what she was doing after all, wasn't it? She shrugged. "Did you want me to? I thought I'd be bothering." she explained, voice quiet though at no point did she slip up in her words to show any of the insecurity that she had been feeling.
Her eyes dropped to her hands in her lap thoughtfully, tilting her head when she looked back up to him.
Ah yes, there was definitely something going on outside. Izaya grinned to himself, watching whatever it was unfold. If only he could hear the people below… maybe if he opened the window. He was sure the conversation was of the most trivial kind, but he’d get a laugh out of it anyways.
Izaya chuckled at how she responded. Did she not believe him? It wouldn’t be very surprising if she didn’t, he supposed. “‘Wherever’? That gives me a few too many options to choose from, Kururi." Was she near the school? Probably not, if she skipped class. “Where are you now? If you’re not too far and you have nothing in mind, I could easily hop over to wherever you happen to be."
She listened to what he had to say, leaning forward onto her lap and supporting her head up with her hand, elbow on her leg. She figured that, if she was already asking him to come out, Sunshine 60 wasn't too bad a meeting place - and it'd be quite convenient for her to not have to go anywhere.
"Sunshine 60." she informed him shortly, lifting her head from her palm to be able to speak clearly. Her eyes bounced from face to face around her absently, currently hoping, for whatever reason, that she wouldn't run into anyone she knew - a rare mood for her to be in, frankly.
Has passivekururi been good this year?
Her maroon hues just hardly lit up at the sound of his offer, smirking in satisfaction - she’d pulled it off. It was much easier than it should’ve been, though, showing all the more in what a good mood her otherwise fairly cold big brother was in.
He chuckled. “Come on then." He started walking. “Where would you like to eat?" He guessed Russia Sushi, but decided to let her say it. Who knew, maybe she’d surprise him?
She rolled her shoulders, not taking too long to respond with the first place that came to mind - which was, unsurprisingly - "Russia Sushi, if you want?" She didn't want to insist; if he had had a different idea, she'd be fine with it. Frankly, she was hungry enough to not be very picky at the moment.

"I—…didn’t originally come from here," Mikado answered. The black haired boy was very fortunate that his lame attempt to start a conversation was actually working. He wasn’t the best at talking. He tended to just stare at a screen and ignore anyone else. But he wanted to talk to other people. He wanted to make different relationships, no matter what.
"I just moved here a few days ago. I’m actually living in a hotel now…" He continued. Until he found a more permanent residence, he would transfer from hotel to hotel, in hopes of finding what he was looking for. At the moment, he wasn’t in a rush, so he moved at his leisure. The boy turned a bit more to her, smiling and finally making more eye contact. His traitorous eyes moved over the female in the school gym uniform out of all things. Mikado may never attended school, but even he knew that it was out of place. The boy’s face turned a shade darker in red color as he turned a bit more away. He wasn’t ready for that visual knowledge.
"B-by the way—…." Mikado stuttered out, trying to look away from the well endowed female. "…I don’t have your name either." Maybe she didn’t want to give it. “If you don’t want to tell me, t-that’s okay…"
She nodded slowly, accepting his answer about not being from here. She could more or less tell. He was being approached far too often to have been around too long, despite that not having much logic to it. Something else she noticed was that he wasn't very good at socializing - but that could've just been because she was a female. Kururi's eyes followed his, leaning forward as he dodged hers, seeing him grow even more flustered. How cute. She pursed her lips, blinking curiously. She didn't completely understand why he was looking away the way he was, but she wouldn't let him drop the eye contact so quickly. With the same small grin, she side stepped, again, now facing him from a diagonal angle with a more or less interested expression.
His question reached her ears and she quickly responded, realizing that she'd failed to give her name - how rude of her. His assumption, however, that she wanted to stay anonymous was sort of funny. "Kururi." she answered shortly, not too keen on giving her last name just yet. Who knew what kind of terms he was in with Izaya?
Not Izaya, Right?
Ikebukuro was bustling as usual - it was prime time for night life, interesting faces and crime currently - Friday night. This was the time Kururi most enjoyed prowling her city's streets, the ambiance louder than ever. Her maroon Orihara eyes made sure to glide across each face individually, a small, thoughtful frown on her lips.
In her observing, she spotted a few familiar faces she didn't want to great, a few sort of interesting faces that weren't strong enough to draw them towards her, and then - was that her big brother..? Considering she was second guessing, there was no way, right? She'd have been able to recognize her Onii-sama right away if that had been the case - but it obviously wasn't. With now furrowed eyebrows, her frown widened and she stopped in her tracks, waiting for the male to come closer.
"...Izaya-onii?" she questioned, knowing it wasn't him but it would certainly grab is attention. After all, he was most likely often mistaken for her brother.
Reyden felt that perhaps they had talked about this enough. He didn’t want to try to fix the situation any more and end up making it worse in the process. He sighed and began eating. Anything he said now…even if he just went on with conversation and tried to pretend that it had never happened, there would still be that conversation lingering over them. It wouldn’t be the same. Like a dark cloud hovering above them. At least she didn’t know the whole story, right? Maybe there was still hope. “I think we’ve talked enough about me," he finally spoke, looking at her with the same gaze from before, as if all the insecurity and pain was gone. “I really don’t see why you are so determined not to talk about yourself." He wasn’t going to push her too, of course, but he would like to know more about her.
She smiled meekly at him changing the subject. That wasn't a bad idea at all; even talking about herself was sure to be less stressful than this. Unless of course he was introduced to Izaya. She had a feeling that if he knew her brother and she mentioned him he'd just get up and leave. He was far too nice to be in good terms with Izaya and she knew that, so maybe she'd just avoid mentioning him for now. After all he was asking her about herself, not her family.
Then again, there wasn't much about herself to tell. At all. She shrugged her shoulders, grimacing slightly. "I don't know what to say." she paused, having to think for a little bit. "I.. Skip school a lot. I'm supposed to attend Raira Academy though?" she added for him to interject if he'd heard of the school - which, if he lived around here, he most certainly had.
