Part of me really wishes that Danny and Vlad or Phantom and Plasmius knew each other for longer before the reveal that they were both halfas. Because imagine being teenage Danny angsting over the fact that you’re the only half ghost in existence. You feel totally isolated from everyone around you ghost or human. And then you finally, after so long thinking that you’re doomed to a life of isolation, find out that there is another half ghost just like you. And he’s your weird uncle who keeps flirting with your mom. I think id lose my mind.

#GOD yes i love identity reveal fics!!!#like if they ever rebooted the series they should just casually sprinkle Vlad around #i think if they still wanted him to live farther away they should have him video call the family now and then #maybe Vlad is helping Jazz with college applications. or he calls under the guise of humoring Jack and Maddie with talk of ghosts.#OH! imagine if the way we got introduced to Vlad was he was using some contact he has at NASA to help Danny get into a space camp #so he calls Danny to run through possible interview questions.#privately he wants the boy to succeed on his own... and so far he seems to be on track to do so...#buuuut if push comes to shove Vlad doesn't mind helping out in his own way here and there haha (aka possess people)#actually maybe because Danny gets his powers he grows more and more distant/disorganized... and only Vlad and Jazz notice #He shrugs off Jazz's attempts to reach out cuz ew older sister who is oh so perfect... like he needs HER help (she loves you idiot!)#but then Vlad notices. he's like the first adult to notice/acknowledge it. and aomehow talking with uncle Vlad is easier...#maybe it's cuz he's farther away and not actually here?#but yeah imagine Vlad trying to make punny quips and run through a mock interview or quiz Danny on space facts #but then he notices Danny is distracted/off... and all of a sudden he stops and asks ''Daniel... is there something wrong?''#''You know you can always talk to me.'' and it just opens a floodgate for Danny.#obviously he doesn't spill the beans about his powers. but he basically dances around the fact his freshman year has been tougher...#Vlad gives a pep talk. maybe even gives him a tip in dealing with stress/juggling tasks and Danny has an epiphany #after they sign off for the night vlad makes a mental note that he may have to schedule some PTO to possess some NASA people... just in case #then UGH fast forward. i'd like to think Vlad was suspicious first. he's been wary of the newer portal ever since Jack first mentioned it.#but when it was activated... nothing seemed to happen. thank god. but Vlad has kept some tabs on it whenever he asks Maddie for updates.#there's obviously been an increase of ghost activity in Amity Park-- he should know he sent half of them there.#but then... Danny says something. it's a kind of deja vu feeling. Where has he heard that turn of phrase before? it bugs him.#his mind conjurs the idea of Danny being Phantom... but then he rushes to review the family's medical history #no one has been admitted for burns or ecto acne... and Vlad would have noticed if the Fentons had started experiments on their own kids #so... he sets the theory aside for now.#until he actually encounters the ghost boy for himself. it's so obviously Daniel! and Vlad is ANGRY #not just because Phantom was wrecked his plans but because what Danny having powers MEANS #it means Jack's negligence had led to dangerous circumstances. my god Daniel could have DIED. fully DIED!!!!#all because they had built that damn lab under their house!#Vlad eventually overpowers Danny and knocks him out. wondering what to do now...
