Based on things I learned that I didn't previously know, and it's not my experiences to speak on. It is also a step back for my mental health which has been six feet under recently :)

There was a lack of care of even CHECKING that you're right when saying the country they're from, even if they did end up being right. Death threats aside, you shouldn't be assuming where someone's from, and you should at least put the care into checking they're actually from where youre assuming, or even just not bring their country into it?? Obviously it seems like nothing in comparison to again, the fact that message was a literal death threat, but still. The person you're referring to in the tag who you were originally talking to is my partner. They get very exaspherated, especially when it's implied multiple times they're impatient. They were very very patient in the past with moon up until they decided to stop being softer with their wording whenever moon would continuously lash out at people and the called them a dick whenever they called moon out for that.
Respectfully, he barely gets himself involved with anything relating to moon, and it's basically the first time he's actively talked about moon to this server in at least a year. The only way someone can heal is if you let them. If you remind them about constant wrongdoings they did, it's more likely to fall back into habit. I really hope you posted those images with good intent.
Also, you only find what you're looking for. If you're looking for someone to be an asshole, then you'll only see them being an asshole. If you're looking for the small moments of them healing, them being better, you'll find those and appreciate them a lot more as I have been doing with Moon.

I've watched Moon change, I've watched them grow out of old habits and become a better person. And none of you, or your friends or whoever was in those old servers that still has lasting beef with them, can't even give them one fucking chance. Its sad.
Harassment is calling someone a "racist piece of shit". This doesn't seem like being 'kind and understanding', does it? At least use softer language ffs, then it wouldn't be harassment
Are you actively Moon's friend as of right now? Have you been in the last few months? You don't see change unless you're looking for it. You see only what you're looking for, and what you're looking for is reasons to call out and harass someone for past actions.
Of course, Moon would read a message like that? Anyone would, in a given situation. Its humanity's natural curiosity. The only thing I see wrong with that is calling yourself moons friends and then sending a message that is possibly triggering / negative to Moon.
Also none of this proves that they are CURRENTLY racist. I know I could come up with a slight excuse for the panama thing, but I don't think I can speak for that message. Only they can.
Also when people get mad, they get compulsive, they say shit they didn't mean to say. Almost everyone has done it. If this is the ONLY thing you can find to call them a racist I still think your point is invalid.

accidentally tabbed into the explore page and the first thing trending on tumblr is good omens... kind of blows my mind how a man being a violent rapist who pretty explicitly used the social capital he gained by being a famous author to abuse women is not enough to turn you off of doing Fandom Stuff with their work. but fictional men being more real to the average tumblr user than real women is not surprising so I guess I don't have any right to act scandalized. it's just depressing man
I mean Terry Pratchett worked on it too, say what you will about Neil fuck face but Pratchett was a good man and I think it’s insulting to attribute the entire work to the worst creator.
considering terry pratchett is dead that means that neil gaiman is the only person left who stands to materially benefit from the existence of an active good omens fandom. but if terry pratchett actually was a good man, i'd like to imagine that he would view deplatforming a violent rapist to be more important than the continued cultural relevance of a single book among the 100+ he'd published. And if he wasn't the kind of man who would view that as an acceptable trade off then i'm not particularly bothered by the idea of insulting him.
try spending some time thinking about the ongoing trauma of the still very alive women gaiman assaulted instead. these women had to make the worst and most private moments of their life subject to public scrutiny to try and prevent the same thing from happening to other people. they matter much more to the current discussions of good omens than pratchett does.
this person seemed to wise up and delete their reply when i was in the middle of responding to it. so i will be gracious enough to crop their name out of the screenshot. but i just want you guys to see how people are so willing to use rape victims as a rhetorical cudgel to defend their sacred right to be in the good omens fandom. but not once. not once has anyone's response to this post been to express any sympathy for gaiman's victims. more people have used this post as a jumping off point to be sympathetic to terry pratchett than have used it as a jumping off point to be sympathetic to victims.

This is a rant about purity culture and harassment in the chonny jash fandom. It contains mentions of nsfw works and harassment. If you don't want to read it, don't. If you disagree with me on this, say so respectfully or don't say anything at all. This is all my opinion, and i am allowed to have it.
Ok im not gonna lie i was not gonna talk abt this at all but this fandom has so many huge fucking problems that no one is talking abt, and that popular spaces like the CJFS are keeping alive. Mainly the problem of purity culture. People get SO FUCKING HEATED if someone makes NSFW work of the jashlings for no fucking reason. And of course, they harass people about it. "It breaks chonnys boundaries!!" No the Fuck It Doesn't. All he has said is "hey, i dont care if you make that stuff, just keep it away from me please." Im so tired of people harassing others and sending them death threats for making nsfw works on behalf of "Chonny's boundaries", when its so fucking clear you guys don't care abt that. If you did, you'd follow his main boundary, which is "Don't harass people".
And if its the argument of "this fandoms full of minors so that shouldnt be here".. one thats a dumb argument im sorry. And 2, a lot of people who do make nsfw work ARE MINORS!!! Sorry to break it to you, but minors explore their sexuality through works they like. And that includes writing smut and drawing porn. That's just something that happens. On the topic of it being posted publicly, i'm very aware that the consensus is that its a bad idea for minors to do that, and i won't encourage that. But im ngl it does happen and it prolly will continue to happen! And you don't have to look at it, whether it's minors or adults making the work!! Shocker!!! Unless porn or smut is being shown to a minor by an adult, is being shown to someone without their consent, or is being shown to Chonny, it does not fucking matter. It is a non issue. I'm tired of this fandom acting like we're fucking nuns. I'm tired of a fan server having the rule of "if we find out you make NSFW work at all (regardless if its shown in the server or not), you will get banned". Its promoting shame and purity culture. And purity culture is rape culture. As long as its not harming anyone or isn't breaking Chonny's boundaries, No One Should Care. No one should be harassed and sent death threats for writing or drawing that stuff. No one should be shamed for that stuff. As long as it isn't harming anyone, its fine. I dont know why this fandom is up on such a high fucking horse about NSFW shit. Fucking grow up.
People who harass people about that kind of stuff, or harass people in general, don't give a fuck about chonny's boundaries. They use that as a justification and an excuse. They do it just to bolster their egos because they're sad about their lives. It's immature and its stupid, but this fandom does it so much. Ive said it already, if its not hurting anyone and Chonny Jash isn't seeing it, it doesn't matter if NSFW shit is made.
I'm sick of this fandom's fucking absurd purity culture. I'm sick of seeing harassment and bullying being so normalized, and I am fucking sick of keeping this to myself out of fear.
