‘ eden, ‘ she repeated the word, letting her tongue form around it. she walked closer, bare feet soft on the floor, fingers running along the edge of the table, looking at the things in the basket he had on the table, when he offered his name, that much, at least, she could provide.
‘ i.. am called lilith. i think. ‘ her head felt less cloudy, and she managed a small smile, reaching out to take the pear. what it was was foreign to her, but she knew enough to lift it up to her nose to take a whiff of it, giving it a small squeeze before she looked at it. her stomach rumbled in response to the question, and she realized that this must be what hunger was.
‘ yes. ‘ she took a bite, teeth sinking into the flesh, and she smiled when the sweetness hit her tongue.
“Lilith, okay,” he nodded as he watched her carefully. He didn’t suspect her as a threat or anything. Nothing had ever tried to harm him here. Eden was as safe as could be. The most dangerous things in this place were his own two feet when he couldn't walk properly over root or rock. “Well uh, that’s nice.” She was at the center of his universe right now, and he didn't now what to make of her. He had had some help over time, from the angels before. Some advice he had gotten from Father, but after that he’d mostly been on his own. Did they not give her that luxury? “So how long have you been in Eden?” He had yet to explore all of this place. Had she been here the entire time?!
