He shoves his shoulder against his comrade, a light laugh escaping him as he finish putting on his chain mail. “--It’ll be a peace of cake, I already told you.” They had been sent several days out to this large tournament in stead of their king. They were tasked with entering, and bringing back the hand of the young woman seated up in the bleachers. 

He swung one of his two light swords playfully, moving to the edge of the arena entrance, looking inside. She was hard to see from this angle, the shade covering most of her, but they had all been promised that she was fair, and kind. The perfect queen a land could ask for.

The tournament started, and the arena was soon filled with the clangs of swords banging against each other. From all around him, bodies pressed in and moved. He held his own through the rounds, numbers dwindling further and further until he was up against one last man.

This guy was easily a hundred pounds heavier than Jasper. He got a better handle on his dual swords, bracing himself before they went at it. In the end, the giant fell and Jasper Whitlock of the Summerlands was declared the winner.

He approached the stands, removing his helmet, shaggy blonde hair tumbling out, curious to look at the woman he has won for his king.
